Just got my joye 510 today. :) So I immediately started to charge it. It has been charging for about 2 hours and the light is green now (indicating a full charge). However the instructions say to let it charge a full 8 hours, even if the light turns green. Then in the forums here under "everything you ever wanted to know about your Joye 510" it says charge until getting green light, dealers may recommend charging a full 4 hours.

Now I know I am all antsy in the pansy to try this thing. But I don't want to mess up the battery ether. How much of a difference is there if I used it now, waited 2 more hours... or waited the full 8?

I don't know if I would leave it charging over night but thats just me, but once the light goes green its charged it wont take anymore of a charge I think the instructions are a throw back to when batteries had memory

I tend to forget that some people sleep all night.

By the way, timers are really handy.

Vape away! I tried one immediately when it turned green, and I let another stay on there all night. Neither battery works better than the other.

Someone on here wrote that once the light turns green, the charger stops charging anyways. I'm not sure about that, but I can tell you that it didn't make any noticeable difference on mine.

+1 i couldn't wait a till the stop light turned green...E-GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hi!

I'm only using Joye hardware. When I got similar instructions with my eGo kit I chatted with my vendor. The charging instruction sheets are ancient and don't apply to the current battery technology, but they still include them anyway. (Note to Joye: PLEASE update those instruction sheets!)

The Joye chargers and batteries have protection circuits. Once the charger LED is steady green the charging cycle has stopped. Pull that sucker out and use it! Leaving it in longer won't hurt the battery. But once the LED is green it's not going to charge it any longer or better either.

On the other side of things, the circuit in the battery shuts the battery off once it drops below a pre-set voltage. If you got batteries with LED's that's when it blinks to let you know it's shutting itself off and it's time for a charge. That prevents the battery voltage from dropping too low which would shorten it's overall life span.

And yes, if you are really desperate you can pull the battery off the charger before it's gone to full charge. It won't hurt the battery - it will just shut off sooner since it didn't get a full charge cycle.

So whaddya think? Is you happy with your kit? :)
