I have it soaking in gin right now... This atty has had the night of it's life, I'll tell you that much... should I be soaking it or just running the liquor through it >.< Well, either way... I have the fluff pulled to the edge... people always warn about overfilling so now I may be underfilling... finicky little devices, these atomizer things... *sigh*...

Once I take it out and blow it out, should I put it in the condom? Oh, funny thing... after being on here a couple of weeks, I finally figured out that the type of condom you guys were talking about was the rubber cap that is fitted on new cartomizers... For quite some time I've been shaking my head and thinking... really... they couldn't find something alittle less conspicuous than that... I mean... cut the finger from a rubber glove or somethingggggg... gah! Ok, so I'm pretty dense sometimes... I tend to take things more literally than I should sometimes... lol... ok, off on a tangent... think I may be getting loopy from inhaling the primer... anyway...

So, after the gin wash, should I do the condom technique with eliquid?

Lol, well, after soaking, I would blow it out really well, and let it dry for a while...probably overnight...you could dry burn it, but you have to be careful there, or you could ruin it...
Since you're new to the whole atty thing, I would suggest you let it dry, and try the other one...

Again, blow it out ( hard ) first... Make sure you have enuff liquid in the cart...15-18 drops or so...make sure the top of the filler looks moist, but not pooled with liquid, and that it's flush with the top of the cart...
Drop a couple of drips right onto the atty, and put the cart on...take a hard drag or 2 without inhaling to get things flowing...should oughtta work...

I don't know if I was doing the right thing or not but on the riva starter kit I got from LF, I didn't know about the primer stuff and it tasted horrible so I boiled both atomizers for about 30 minutes and let them set overnight to dry. Went back to them the next day and All was well. I'm still using them, actually and that was early march.

Pretty sure I probably ruined the one I've been trying to fix... *sigh*
Tired and sad... going to start fresh tomorrow and see what I can do with the other one... Thanks for all the help, guys... If there's a way to screw something up, I'll be the one to do it... Hopefully things will look better... or taste, in this case... better in the morning...

I have had the best results in prepping the new ones for service by pouring 91% rubbing alcohol through them. Simply poured it through the cart opening until the flow seemed unimpeeded, and placed them under a 100 watt lamp to dry out good after blowing the solution out of them several times until dry on a paper towel. I have used this method to clean them as well after heavy usage for 2 or 3 days. I will hope that this does'nt kill them early in their life......but I feel this is the way for me to take care of this. Then again I have had a couple carts that just had a burnt taste no matter what I did. They got filed in the waste basket and a new one filled and installed.
