You respect peoples 'air space',, yet stealth vape whenever you can?
Your Hypocrisy is delicious..
I can see why what I said might seem, or even be, hypocritical. By vaping, I don't feel I am disrespecting anyone's air space because I don't believe vapor to be harmful, but if they perceive it, if they see my vapor, they will think I am.

OlderNDirt, I vape low watts, high ohms, on ancient gear. I don't put out billowing clouds, but it is still quite noticeable. I remember reading quite some time back people describing how they managed to stealth vape on planes. I think it involved holding the vapor in for longer than usual and then exhaling into something like a blanket or towel. Lol.

Vaping publicly in a non-bothersome way should improve public perception as they realize nothing bad happens to them. They will hold any bad experience against us nearly forever though.

No vaping in parking lots is insane, until we all have electric-only cars it IS a smoking area. That's like not allowing farting in a horse parade.

Somewhat nonsense, in my opinion. Vaping (e-cigarette) wasn't banned along with regular cigarettes in the bars here, because people where blowing big clouds. I would say it was banned because they shared the same word ... CIGARETTE ... That was enough to put the two into the same category as far as the law goes.

Possibly ... Just maybe the big clouds and vaping where ever, whenever added fuel to the fire, but it was doomed from the use of the term e-cigarette from the start. Why wouldn't it be? What would you think of it, if you had never smoked a cigarette a day in your life?

I totally agree with the notion that the name of the device doomed us from the very start. Cigarette is a very dirty word. Had the initial models not been designed to look exactly like a traditional cigarette and had it been named something goofy like "fog farter" at least it would have taken every anti smoker longer to start the hate. The use of nicotine in them could have been thought of in the same way as the other stuff people put in them and be concidered the exception rather than the rule.

I think that we were all very naive.

Then the naivety started with the guy who made the first one. We didn't name it- he did.

    Greetings, I live in Oregon.

What they have done is make vaping illegal anytime/place that smoking is illegal.
    • 'smoke free work place' anywhere indoors where someone is being paid to do something it is illegal to vape/smoke (must be 10' away from any opening or doorway)
    • In all State parks it is illegal to vape/smoke
    • during 'fire season' if it is illegal to smoke, it is illegal to vape
    • Enclosed areas with a minor - you can't vape/smoke around someone under 18yo.
    • Hospital zones - usually the city blocks encompassing the hospital, it is illegal to vape/smoke
You can however vape in designated smoking areas, your car (as long as a minor is not present) and in the confines of your house and yard.

There are some hotel/motels that do still have rooms which you can vape/smoke in however many/most have gone non-smoking.

agree,, i would like to change the name to vape mods rather than e-cigs. i treat mine as a cig as far as 'where' i can vape. if approached to stop i will comply, but i will also remark that we will next stop junk food consumption because it kills more than vape,, heck i might even remark about beers....its all about finding someone's hot button for them to back off.

You can get a vision spinner and a ce4 for like $15 off the bay. Not great, but some high nic juice and bathroom breaks and you should be set.
On a side note, last time I was in Lincoln me and my boys vaped up and down O street bar hopping and never even got a dirty look. It's been a few years, but hard to believe it's changed that much. And we've even talked about moving back. Guess no place is perfect.

I started vaping with a Kanger VV spinner with a T3D tank and was thinking about that for the traveling, but that for 10 days??????????? I just dunno know! And then I read GeorgeS's post!

About your side note, All of Nebraska folk are good people and would never hassle or make a scene over the "little things" like vaping. But like everywhere else, there are some busy bodies. And smokers and vapers are very respectful of others.....everywhere.

Thanks (I think!) for that first hand information, even thought that is worse then what I had researched! 10' from doorways, not in state parks?????? And just guessing that early August would be in "fire season", illegal to vape, period?!?!?!?!? We were supposed to stay in some fancy Bed and Breakfast where I was supposedly able to vape, but I'm not sure if that would hold true once there.....especially during "fire season".

No offense, but think I will stay away from Oregon, but sounds like they won't miss me at all!

"Fire Season" (usually May through September in mid and eastern portions of the State) generally equates to limiting yourself to enclosures (house and car) or in a water way. (stand/wade in a river or lake, (water on all sides of you).

Some cities have "piled on" top of all the other smoking regulations to limit smoking in "public places". Public transportation (buss stops) come to mind. Some businesses have signs posted that there will be no smoking anywhere on their property.

Yes. They don't like smoking in these parts.

I moisten my finger tip with a bit of juice and lick it up... the urge is suppressed and no visuals to be found anywhere... and it can be done anywhere... :)

just be sure to use a tiny bit to start with untill you find your limit... a big drop of 36 nic will turn you green ;)

Is there anything you can add to (or take away from) e-liquid that will prevent vapor from being visible?

I make a stealth juice, 10mg/ml nic, 90-95% PG, 5-10% distilled H2O. Run in a clearo like a PT2 you just take a nice deep inhale, wait a couple seconds, and will have little or no visible vapor. My usual mix is 6mg/ml 60/40. The increased nic level lets me take just a few puffs to get by.

It is quite ridiculous. I feel for anyone living or visiting a restrictive state. I'm from Illinois. I lived in Atlanta for five years. As long as the place is 18 and up, you could smoke there. Obviously this included bars.

I went back to visit Illinois in the winter. I didn't realize they had banned smoking in bars. Needless to say I was quite appalled that we smokers (I was still smoking at the time) had to stand outside of bars in zero degree temperatures to smoke like we were lepers.

I ended up moving back to Illinois for a few years. There were a couple bars where they let you smoke. They used plastic cups of water. When they saw the sheriff's department pulling up to do a smoke check, they threw away the cups. These were dive bars, but hey I like those.

Now I live in Tennessee. We can smoke or vape in bars. It is up to the owner if they decide to not allow it.

I think the whole vaping not being allowed outside like the park situation absolutely ridiculous. Sorry, you are not going to start a fire as you might by throwing down a lit cigarette.

This whole demonizing of vaping is beyond crazy in my book.

@Bunnykiller I would gladly give that a go on the flights, but not sure about regular use over the course of a week.

@ENAUD As of yet, I don't DIY. But buying something like that was high on my list of possible solutions. But staying with a group in a B&B and a fair amount of time together could even hamper that ability. And last thing I want is dealing with a couple old bitties with their panties in a wad should they see me.

@Yiana It is almost so bad here that you can't smoke if you are within sight of a building...even if it is just an old barn. I liked your comparison to lepers, but then it dawned on me that lepers might at least garner a modicum of sympathy and attention from the medical profession.

I was in Gatlinburg last month and I must say the people there were more than nice about vaping. I had one of my custom made mods with me and I must have had 10 people stop me and ask about it. Not your typical young people either. Not one person said anything negative to me. I am respectful around people and don't blow clouds but I did vape all over that town without any incidence. Why all states cant be that way I will never understand

I lived in Portland for 7 years. As I recall, when outdoors there was water on all sides of me for about 9 months of the year ...
