One of the best things about the Dr I see for my asthma is that he doesn't harangue me; he asks if I still smoke, and how much, then says "well, you know the risks, so do what you can to cut down or quit if you can." When I told him I was about to make a serious effort with e-cigs so I can get off the real ones, he was thrilled, and wished me luck.

Not to mention the brainwashed foot soldiers (read volunteers) who span the country and deliver the propaganda directly.
They probably don't even know how brainwashed they are, because they trust in Mother Non-Profit.

Whenever there is a local ban attempt, you will find at least one of these foot soldiers there.
And a fountain of propaganda coming directly from their mouths.

I have been seeing this recently with a consulting company that contracted to "enhance" our business practices. They hire very young recent graduates, offer them a modest salary but with travel opportunities, and pump them up with cheerleader tactics and psychological conditioning ...

Its almost scary, like a religious cult, their corporate doctrine may NOT be questioned or criticized. Arrogance and a lack of analytical thought is so often mistaken for confidence and credibility ...

How do you negotiate with mindless zealots ?

Well, I took great pleasure today in whipping out my eRoll *the minute* I stepped outside our local library. Nobody told me I couldn't, despite the prominent No Smoking signs posted all over the porte cochere entryway, but I did get a couple looks, interested rather than disapproving. I would never do it inside the library, of course, and it has nothing to do with laws, rules, or what some busybody might think -- I have too much respect for BOOKS, and moisture in any form is not good for them. :thumb:

Out of curiosity, what amount of water vapor do you think humans generally exhale into the air? Do you think it is zero, or higher? And if higher, would you favor some sort of policy in a library that would filter the air that people exhale?

Hopefully no one perspires while in a library. Just imaging how wet are books would be then!

I'm assuming you've seen what happens to the air inside a vaping shop, when there are a lot of customers tasting, vapers sitting around socialing and vaping...? And you recall whoever it was that said their vaping convention required opening the fire doors to ventilate the place? Last I checked, humans breathing or perspiring never caused effects like that.

I think you just like to argue for the hell of it. Not much to do?

Have not seen this. You think a library would turn into vaping environment akin to a vape shop?

Same question as above.

I think you just like to argue for the hell of it. Not much to do?

Just addressing your points on vaping in an indoor place under the guise of 'respect for books.' Calling foul on that. Apparently, it isn't the "moisture in any form" claim and feel that has been established in this little exchange. So thank you.

I've never seen a vape shop get clouded out like you're referring to.

I was at a vape meet where it got a little foggy, but that was in a small room during a sub-ohm coil building seminar. Get a few dozen of those going at the same time and you can see it.

A vape convention huh? I'm gonna guess that somewhere over 50% of the attendees were huffing and puffing and showing off. Probably an extreme example isn't it? Besides, if there were that many people vaping, who'd be left to complain?

So, yeah, I'm guessing the part of the library that houses the physics and electronics books could become obnoxious.

Me neither. I buy my juice from Spring Vapor here in Spring Texas and that place always has at least 10 people waiting to be served. Everybody, including the vendors, are vaping and I've never had to go outside to get fresh air. I guess she has never heard of a picture being photoshopped before, if what she's talking about is a photo of a vape convention a while back. From what I read, the consensus was that the light when the picture was taken was probably causing the effect.

I vape in my kids (non-smokers) car all the time with the windows up and they always tell me they love the smell. Even when I blow what I consider is a big cloud of vapor I apologize and they tell me "oh no, no need to apologize at all."

Until we find the structure and means to retain lobbyists state-by-state instead of just spamming Representatives and arguing in a vacuum; we're all just pissing in the wind. Sorry to be cynical.

"We" will never have that kind of structure or power. I have no delusions about that. Although the spamming of representatives with FACTS can help them make better decisions. That is not what this thread is about though. This thread is about using the same tactics used by the ANTZ to change the hearts and minds of the sheeple and get them on our side. We need to use the same inflammatory language and catch phrases to make the sheeple understand that to "save the children" they need to support vaping, NOT ban it. We need to make them understand that vaping is better for us, better for them, and better for the environment. That we do have the power to do.
