I've been reading up on steeping but how do YOU do it?

I've been vaping for about a year and half and I've never had to steep because I have bought all of my juice at local stores where I assume that since they are manufactured for retail that they do not require steeping, either way I've never had an issue vaping right out of the bottle. I recently bought an Istick with a kanger subtank and I'm going through a lot more juice. My staple has been space jam and I try other stuff to supplement but $20-25 per 30ML is getting expensive. So I just ordered from vista vapors and it cost me less than half of what of been paying but I haven't tried any of the many flavors I bought because they recommend steeping and since all but two of them are perfectly clear I'd say they probably do and I don't want to prejudice myself against the flavor by trying it before it is ready, tho I just tried the orange pop one since it wasn't clear and so far so good.

I really don't want to fool with all this, I just don't want to smoke and I haven't for over a year, so what I did was to just throw all of the bottles into a crown royal bag and I swing it around to agitate them periodically and I guess I'm going to let them sit for days to whenever until they start to change color. Would you expect this method to be effective, if so how long because I've read from a week to a month? Does color change indicate readiness? Some people are just crazy "in" to vaping, I am in so much as it keeps me from smoking but I'm not all grimm green about it, so I'm curious to hear how your average joe steeps? I suppose what I am doing will be fine but I'm just looking for simple and effective.

How do you do it? You don't do anything.

But seriously what your doing is just fine just shake it up when you mix and shake every once in a while.. Not much to it.

The amount of time will depend strictly on the brand and type of flavoring. Some require little to no steeping.

All you can do is try it after a week. If its funky leave it another week. Some certain flavors can take up to a month to fully come together. If it has a chemical or alcohol taste or smell leave the whole cap off over night to let it evaporate the alcohol off.

If the orange is good - go with it.. Vape it up and count the savings..

With diy Im down to less than 20.00 a month and I vape 250ml a month!

RTS vapes, wizard labs, and mfs are my main suppliers.

I run a bowl of hot tap water and after shaking the begezus out of the freshly mixed bottle I throw it in the hot tap water. I remove it after it cools and then start vaping on it after a couple of days sitting on my desk and shaking it whenever I think about it.

Works for me on my fruit flavors.
They do get a bit better after about 1 week, but the biggest change is in the first 24 hours.

You can just store them in a cool, dark place.

That's what I do. I just put them in a Desk Drawer and come back 3 or 4 days later.

Not Exactly Sure what goes on in there? Maybe the e-Liquid Pixies do a May Pole dance around the Bottles? Or maybe my e-Liquids subtlety Interact with the Higgs Field?

Whatever happens, it Works. And that is Enough for Me.

Painless too.

I warm up all my new bottles first thing, in a zipper baggie and a basin of hot tap water. This loosens up the liquid so I can give it a good shaking.
Then I uncap and pop off the spouts and let them breathe open-necked for around 4 hours, to get rid of any volatiles such as alcohol. Recap and shake again.
After that it's 2 weeks (or more for tobacco/creamy flavors) in the cabinet, with occasional burping and shaking during the steep.

That's my FULL treatment. The important thing is a bit of air exchange, shaking, and waiting. How you do it, if at all, is up to you.

steeping?? find some fluid and some material you want to extract the flavor from ( tea, tobacco, etc) insert material into fluid, bring it up to 150F - 175 for 1/2 an hour or less, strain/filter material from fluid...... that is steeping.... now if no material is used... its aging.. just let it set for a week or more untill the desired flavor is achieved...

but if you are looking for a lower cost manner of making your own juice... check out the DIY forum/threads :)

People really do overthink steeping (or, as it's better termed, aging). It's a simple 3 step process:

1) Taste juice...if good, your 3 step process just went down to 1. If bad, refer to 2.
2) Shake bottle, let sit for ~1 week (or a few days)
3) Repeat 1

You could also remove the cap for a few hours if the juice is too pungent.

I get Juice from mailbox. unpack, shake, pop drip tops and sniff? I detect alcohol I leave top off and put on shelf, No Alcohol iput the top back on but not the cap and put on shelf. next DAY give em a sniff, Alcohol leave tops off, No AL put caps back on. give all capped bottles a good shake. Repeat daily for a few days. after that, Forget about ageing juices for at least 1-2 weeks. Couple weeks later, taste, decide, put back on shelf or add to vape stash.

I am much too lazy/busy to do much else other than shake vigorously (when I remember), squeeze out the old air to let some fresh air in (which only works with plastic bottles unfortunately), shake again, and toss 'em back into the juice shoebox. I can't bring myself to leave the caps off anymore to let them breathe, as I am an 'accident going somewhere to happen' and I've already knocked open juice over. I do a sniff test every once in a while and can usually tell when the flavors seem to be blended better and vape-test worthy.

When they arrive, quick sniff test to see if I smell any alcohol or "off" smells. If so, open the caps and let them sit for 4-12 hours. then re-cap and into a baggie for a bath in hot tap water. When it cools down a bit, a good shake mixes the juice well. Then I toss them in the shoebox to sit for bit. I'll shake them if I remember but that doesn't happen often. I have some that have been sitting for about 4 or 5 months and I still can't vape those. I won't mention the vendor names because a lot of people like them. When I'm ready to start tasting them, I have a Magma dripper that I use with a single coil on the smallest airhole - perfect for mouth-to-lung.

ok im very lazy at steeping so this is what i did over the last nearly 2 years of steeping methods.
First steeping method was hot water bath until it came down to room temp then shake and put up
Second steeping method was uncooked rice in a bowl microwave for 10-25 seconds depending on if the uncooked rice was hot or not
Third steeping method Ultrasonic cleaner i got the one 30min cleaner did a few 30 min cycles shake then put up
Fourth steeping method was a mini paint shaker did it for 15 minutes then put up
Fifth steeping method is my last method is a 4 channel speed control magnetic stirrers. doing this method for an hour or 2 speeds up steeping by a few days to a week

***Also some flavors like blueberry and tobaccos naturally need time to mature so some flavors theres no way around, u just have to steep them.
also uncapping for 24-48hrs do help with eliminating the mediciney or perfumey smells

I don't screw around with 'hot water baths' or 'vibrating devices', or any of that kind of stuff.

When I make juice, I make about 230ml of juice ... I put it in a bottle and out of the sunlight for about a month. While it's setting there for the month, I may hand-shake the bottle every week or so.

After a month .... FINISHED
