Lol! Cold and snow that is. I've been a little quiet the past month as we made a decision to leave the DC area and move a little farther South to Miramar, FL next weekend. After years of living in Alaska, Washington State, Missouri, TN and now NOVA, I'm ready for a little warmer winters and the opportunity to possibly wear flip flops and shorts in December and January. vape bags are packed with my Reos and all of my NT juices (not trusting with the movers) and ready to go in the car for the long drive with my better half, and Elvis and Priscilla.

It's been a little stressful making the decision to make a major life change but thanks to Rob and Clark I'm almost 6 months analog free and even with the stress haven't had any thoughts of lighting up. I'll just have 4 Reos loaded up with NT with backup batteries and juice and vape my way down I-95. I may even post some pics along the way. Thanks to everyone on this and the Reo forum for helping me stay analog free and hope to meet some of you when we get settled.

Welcome to Florida! You'll love it here. I moved from Michigan a couple of decades ago and never looked back :) No frozen fingers in the morning from scraping off my windshield, no bumper cars and dodgem's in the snow. We do get heat but......never had to shovel it! :vapor:
I had a big smile :p:toast:when I PIF'd my snow shovel to my neighbor, along with down coats, stocking caps and heavy boots to friends.

I moved to the Deep South 25 years ago and also gave away coats etc when we moved. I still don't own anything heavier than a leather jacket. It's been a fine ride but at retirement, we're looking to get out of the heat and humidity (and $600 mo. Electric bills) and moving back north, likely close to the kids in Colorado.

I'm one of the strange ones that actually likes the cold and since I won't have to go to work, I think I'll sit at the window, vape NT juices and watch it snow. Not sure how my southern born and raised husband will handle it but he's game right now.

Safe travels VAscooter and may you enjoy your next 25 years in the south!

Lucky dog! I'd love to be able to do what you are doing - at least for six months of the year. If I never saw another polar vortex again, it would be just fine with me. Good luck, hope to be in your shoes one day - send pics along the way. Best wishes on this new well deserved happy stage in your life! Imagine vaping in the sunshine, all winter long!

Or as I say about living in Arizona - "I've never had to shovel sunshine!" :)

I can't stand the cold, it's miserable for me. I'd gladly endure 100+ degrees all year 'round rather than having to deal with freezing temps, snow, ice, etc. People always think of Hell as a hot place; to me, Hell would be a constant 30 degrees with snow on the ground!

Congrats on the move, AND on staying smoke-free, VAScooter!

But CO is weird. In the dead of winter we will get three feet of snow, completely freeze the city then the day after the storm stops it's 70 degrees with sun temps in excess of 80 and in two days only the parking lot piles of snow showed it did anything at all. I have no coats, only wear a sweater in winter till it gets below 0 then add a hat, gloves and scarf...

Megan - the kids just bought a house in Woodland Park at about 8500 ft elevation so may be a little more snow there. It's a beautiful mountain home with 4000 SF, a straight shot view of Pikes Peak and a whole floor for me to move into. They just don't know that part yet. LOL

They had it written into the real estate contract that we get to tour it on Sept.2nd while we're up there. The realtor told my son the sellers were agreeable but he'd never written that into a contract before. My sons reply was "You haven't met my mom before." :D

Oh yeah....tell them to buy a front loader to clear their driveway.

Have a student who lives at 10,000 ft and the whole housing community bought many construction things because the county only does the county roads so they are SOL if they don't clear their own. Still makes it to class all the time in the winter...Sounds like they got a great house!!

Always happy to have another refugee from the North here in the (often) sunshine state. I've been here since 1951, 30 years on South Miami Beach and the past 33 here in Orlando. After growing up with sand between my bare toes and the scent of the ocean in the breeze I do have to admit I don't like being so far inland. I envy you your proximity to the beaches. Travel safe.
