Just received my "sub" from m&p today...great so far, however, I realized I haven't the foggiest idea as to how to change the carto when the time comes. I've checked youtube & couldn't come up w/anything except one that showed attaching the end of a new carto to the battery end of the one being replaced & pushing it up. I really hate to ruin my new baby, therefore I realllly need help on this....ANYONE PLEEEZ!

If the tank is empty, you can just pull the old carto out and slide a new one in. If it's not, there are a few tricks you can try, the first of which that comes to mind is to put the connector from the new carto into the mouth end of the old one and use it to push the old one out. If done right, the carto change will happen with little to no leakage

I have a mini-sub. I like it....until I have to change the carto. Since there is no lip on the rubber stoppers at each end, when you push the carto out, both the rubber stoppers come out too. It is a major PITA trying to get them back into the right spots and lined up. Phil Busardo did a review on it and shows how to change the carto and get it back together. I spent 30 minutes a couple of nights ago trying to get mine back together with a new carto. If they would just make these with a lip on the stoppers, it would be a great tank. I like the filler hole, and the ability to unscrew the screw and "decompress" it to get juice moving is great.

I'm really liking this-I put it on my ego-twist but noticed that you have to crank up the volts (have never done that before) to get the flavor....in other words - I really am in a fog as to what I'm doing. I did order extra cartos w/it & realized that I didn't have a clue as to what to do. Not happy to hear that it's a PITA to change & hope that "practice makes perfect" as I'd like to get some more of them. I really appreciate your responding to my cry for help...Thank you! BTW...where are you in Mi....I'm in the burbs of lovely Deeeetroit.

The grommets style tanks are a pita to change cartos and in my experience, are prone to air leaks that result in flooding. I use dc tanks and have no problems. The ones I use can be bought at liberty -flights.
Gee-that sounds really encouraging..thanks for the heads up. I'll check into the one you suggested...I do appreciate the info!

I have DC tanks and mini subs. The DCs are easier to change out cartos but the subs are easier and more convenient to fill. The M&P subs have never leaked on me and I'm sure it's because the grommets are backed up with the o rings.

Personally I prefer my subs over my DCs. I push out my grommets when I change a carto. If there is juice in the tank I just use the bottle I filled it with and squeeze the air out a bit and hold it to the opening then roll the tank and release the bottle.

After I push the cart out (from connector side) with the grommets onto a paper towel, I just slip them off. I then slip 1 grommet onto the connector side first and slide it through and press easily in until its flush. After that, you just keep a couple fingers on the connector side and pop on the other grommet. Sounds like a bit of a hassle but I do it in about 30 seconds.

Both the subs and the DCs have their advantages.

I prefer my subs

Hey...that's really good news. I was getting a little discouraged with some of the feedback. It seems like such a good system & a total pleasure in the way you fill it - really easy. Mom & Pop are just great & I truly like dealing w/them...fantastic customer service, so I'd like to get some more of these....minisub next. I'll give it a shot - keeping my fingers crossed & thanks for the input-it gives me hope.

Tivo....Thanks so much. M&P sent me (bless their hearts) some sample cartos to try. I ordered the sub with extra 3. boges & they suggested I try the 1.7. I've never used a LR for fear of blowing something up....can't wait to try those out now. Thanks again, you really did help.

If you've got an ego twist then you can run a 1.7ohm carto at the egos lowest setting (3.3volts) and it should give you nice 4.5-4.8ish volt experience without having to crank it up. Your batteries will thank you (-:

Happy vaping

Thank you so much!!! That's basically what the youtube video showed except they pushed it out from the battery end. Does this mean I don't have to remove grommets or anything; realllly don't want to do that - don't trust myself.

You can do it from either end, really. I just prefer to put my cartos in the other direction (or with a drip tip or filler tool in place) since the edge at the mouth end can damage o-rings

I didn't realize the sub was one of the grommet style tanks, I haven't used any of those, myself. Looks like you got some good tips from people who have, though :)

Ok....grommets, not rubber thingies.

Michigan.....way down south, near Indiana line.

Mini-sub...I like the tank a lot, but don't like changing the carto. My other issue, is that I have learned that I really dislike the taste of polyfill in the cartos, so will probably never buy another device that uses them. You can't beat it for ease of filling tho....
