it appears to only happen with my uwell tanks. both the original and the mini.
doesn't do it with the baby beast, or the NRG, (they are both on the same coil) but i don't really like the baby beast.

i just have no luck.

also a question, when you let go of the power button does the volts and amps disappear immediately? my other mods, the info will display long enough to read it. on the Jac only the ohms stay.

The ohm reading when in TC mode is being read constantly while the mod is firing and the display of ohm will change as the reading changes.

edit to add, the NRG coils are .4 ohms. reading at .44 and not bouncing around.

the uwell coils are both .5 on the Orginal and the mini (different type coils) and they bounce around in the .6's.

Sound like it has something to do with the 510 length. Volts and amps usually disappear fairly quickly but you can usually change how long it displays.

But jumping around do you mean while vaping it? This will happen because the temperature of the coil is changing the ohm while it heats or cools. Most of the mods I use in TC show the ohm rising and falling as it is being used. But it drops back to displaying the locked in ohm within a second of letting go the fire button.

In TC mode the mod is reading the ohm of the coil continuously and will display it as it changes while the fire button is being pressed. Should drop back to the base reading after letting go of the fire button.

ok. i only get the ohms too high when i go over 55 watts.
if any one else experiences this, please tag me. it only seems to happen when the coil is reading .6 and higher.
i'm gonna have to start buying .4 and lower coils. but not a big deal.

I still love my Jac.
just want to make sure i'm not hurting anything like my batteries or something.

"ohms too high" happens when you select a power level that will heat the coil too quickly and overshoot the set temperature. You said 55 watts and 0.6 ohms shows it but 0.5 ohms doesn't? It sounds like you're right on the edge anyway. You can try decreasing the watts to 40 and see if that heats satisfactorily. As long as you see the "temperature protection" message you're using enough power.

well darn.. just as i navigated thru the TC menu and set it all up i realized, the crown 3, .4 ohm coils are kanthal.
not the .24 or .15's.. just the .4's!!

so why can't kanthal be used in tc?
i threw the box away and just happened to come across a post about them being kanthal.

can the NRG .15 coils be used in TC?

Kanthal coils either change temperature not enough or two much, I can't remember. I think it's too much but no, you cannot vape Kanthal in TC.

I have found more success using RTAs than drop-in coils for TC although I'm sure there are some notable exceptions, but for the most part, IDK.

Maybe your 0.4 coils are reading correctly now that you are not trying to use TC on them, so they ARE reading the way they should. That actually makes a lot of sense to me.

I'm not sure about the other coil that you are interested in, I don't have that tank or coils but I'm sure someone will have the answer for you. Hope it all works out..

GT4 Quad Core 0.15 ohm coil head is the most diverse head of the bunch, supporting four individual Kanthal coils that have been wrapped to perfection and wicked with Pure Organic Cotton to bring out even the most subtle undertones in your favorite e-juice flavors.

From the description of the coil. I also searched all NRG coil heads and none seem to be anything other than Wattage only. All seem to be Kanthal

No TC on NRG coils

The real magic with the NRG Sub-Ohm Tank performance happens within the GT Cores. Vaporesso has released a wide range of coil options; including a traditional cotton and their “signature” cCell Ceramic configuration (the ceramic replacement coils are, unfortunately, 50% higher in cost, $15.99 for 3x pack). Using Kanthal wire in all the current coils, users won’t have much use for the Temperature Control suites in the TC-enabled mods, but the Kanthal and Ceramics makes for superior flavor performance and top-notch cloud production anyway.

Ohms too high is because you have a setting that the mod condition can't support.
Usually asking for higher power than the mod can deliver.
This is a 75W mod, but Ohm's Law and all that.
Take a look at the power curves in kanthal and nickle.
DNA75Power.PNG

If this were a Ni coil, then at 0.40 ohms, the max power the DNA 75 could deliver is around 42W. If you asked it to do 55W, you'd get vapor, but also the Ohms too high warning message. Same applies to all other TC materials, like SS316, Ti, whatever.
