No - the eGo will only be available in 3.7v.

The impression I get is that Janty are not inclined to go down the 6v road just yet.... (apart from anything else a higher voltage will presently invalidate the warranty of their atomisers). But I heard that there are plans of maybe some kind of multi-volt model, or maybe one fixed somewhere between 4-5v....:pop:

I'm desperate for a 5v device, so that would be just great if they could accomodate that.

They're just (very) high capacity 3.7v batteries with an led and cover, exactly what the 510 was needing in my opinion but not a 5 volt option due to lithium chemistry. 3.7v is perfect with 510's anyway *shrug*. They could add a dc-dc boost but in my experience that really stresses lithium cells which in turn reduces lifespan, using some kind of twin cell arrangement with a regulator or resistor would be just as pointless imo.
The EGO is the perfect solution to the 510's only real downside; battery capacity while being small and light.

Sorry, I should have said that the plans were mentioned for another model, not the eGo...
...and that's if it happens of course, too...

Of course :)
I realise that 510 style devices are restricted to the voltage they can output, so a mod would do nicely. I have a 5v passthru device and it is wonderful. Better flavour than 6v and more vapour and TH than 3.7 can produce.
5v is definately the sweet spot.
