Janty Stick: Some Pre-Purchase Questions

I've decided to purchase the Janty Stick as my first e-cig, but first I had some questions for anyone nice enough to answer:

1. The Janty Stick starter kit comes with five cartridges, but it doesn't say if they're empty or filled with e-liquid. Can someone who has purchased the starter kit clear this up for me? If they are filled with e-liquid, what flavor is it?

2. I found the JS starter kit on Widow's Beadwork for the same price Janty is offering it, but it also comes with a free 510 adapter. Has anyone ordered from WB? I know that Janty and altsmoke both make 510 adapters for the JS, and I was curious which one WB gives you. After watching some video reviews, I am definitely getting the altsmoke adapter...so if WB is giving the Janty one, I'll pass on ordering that package. Also, I can't seem to find the altsmoke adapter anywhere on their website. Can someone point me in the right direction?

3. As stated before, this is my first e-cig, so all of this is relatively new to me. Therefore, I have questions about the 801 that comes with the JS, and the 501 altsmoke adapter as far as how they're constructed from top to bottom. From top to bottom, can someone just list the parts. For instance, mouthpiece, cartridge, atomizer, adapter, into the JS. I just wanna know how they're put together.

4. Has anyone tried out the 901 adapter?

5. I want to order a few 801 and 510 backup atomizers. Any suggestions on a specific site?

6. When I order the altsmoke 510 adapter, do I have to purchase different carts too? I would assume they're different than the ones that come with the unit right? If so, I can just order 510 carts from anywhere right?

7. Any suggestions on a good e-liquid starter kit for me to purchase? I saw the Johnson's creek starter kit, that one looked pretty good.

I'll add more questions later if I think of any...thanks for your help guys.

Filled and their choice - you might put a request in comments in the checkout.

The Widow is a great vendor and totally reliable. Interesting on the free adapter, I've been wanting to order one, just haven't gotten around to it.

I know that Janty and altsmoke both make 510 adapters for the JS, and I was curious which one WB gives you.

I would think that it is the same one as Janty. It's different from others as it has to go way down in the Stick to fit.

After watching some video reviews, I am definitely getting the altsmoke adapter...so if WB is giving the Janty one, I'll pass on ordering that package.

There are many adapters showing up now make sure you get one that's compatible with the Janty STick/joye stick. The one at the Widows no picture but says 510 adapter for Janty STick so that's the one you want. It has a long chamber just like the 801 atomizer. Not just a small addition like the other adapters.

Also, I can't seem to find the altsmoke adapter anywhere on their website. Can someone point me in the right direction?

AltSmoke | Personal Vaporizer Battery Adapters - ie. not the one you're looking for.

Toss up. If you get the joye stick from the widow may as well pick up the atomizers there too - a bit more but I'm pretty sure she has free shipping. Same if you get it from Janty or dietsmokes although the attys are a bit more there last I looked. Madvapes has 510 attys for $7 but no 801s. Cheapest price is heaven gifts but then $15 shipping. They also sell the Joye Stick.

6. When I order the altsmoke 510 adapter, do I have to purchase different carts too? I would assume they're different than the ones that come with the unit right? If so, I can just order 510 carts from anywhere right?

Yes. 510 carts are a differnt size than 801's (dammit ;-) and you'll have to get some carts if you get the 510 attys and again, not sure if altsmokes have the adapter you want. And if you get 510 carts you might want to get the flat tip/whistle tip - or the 901's fit the 510 too. The widow does have them as well.

7. Any suggestions on a good e-liquid starter kit for me to purchase? I saw the Johnson's creek starter kit, that one looked pretty good.

I'd not recommend them but some here would. I'd start with Nhalers high voltage samplers. See first link in the first link below, then some other choices for samplers.

Is this the vid you saw?

You don't want the little AltSmoke adapter, Sure it works fine, but not in a recessed hole like in the Janty Stick. You want the Janty Stick 510 adapter STYLE. But not the Janty branded one which was made to Janty's specs. Janty felt the need to tone it down a bit so it is no longer a passive straight through design. The Janty style enables you to grab or attach the adapter from outside of the unit, it also leaves the 510 atty/tip riding higher which makes more sense as it's always best to screw in your atty by holding the body, not the tip. It also makes dripping a lot easier and less messy.

Note carefully this pic with the Janty adapter, bottom, and how it fits in the body, top.

Notice how easy it is to grab the adapter and the atty body, at once, to unscrew it. With the AltSmoke adapter it will remain screwed in at some point when you unscrew the atty... a pain to get out.

What you want to get is the Joye Stick 510 adapter, which retains all the functionality of the Janty, without the electrical limitings (resistor?) of the Janty speced one.

The Widow says her's is a Joye product, check with her.

Here's the Joye Stick and the Joye Stick adapter.

Wow, thanks for that info on the adapter! Here is what WB said in the response e-mail:

"The adapter comes directy from Joye Technology. It is the original 510 adapter that Janty sells."

And yes, that was the video I saw. Do you happen to know the differences between the 801 and 510 as far as vapor production, throat hit, flavor, etc.?

The 510 will have superior throat hit and vapor production, flavor is a personal taste. I personally don't like the 801 at all, I'm a 510 guy, if I don't get a killer throat hit it's not worth vaping for me. Over time, the throat hit of the janty stick will probably degrade for you, and you'll end up switching to a 5v mod. Once your throat gets used to it, 3.7/4.2v just doesn't cut it anymore.

(I also get amazing flavor on a 510 at 5v using my own homebrew juice - bliplabs 75mg+glycerin to cut to 25mg/ml+lorann watermelon - just mixed up some watermelon peach last week and it's pretty awesome too.)

Just another opinion. I use the 801 in the stick and always have. I have not found it to have diminished in any way (atty's die though, so that may be the source of that comment). The 510 produces more and warmer vapor, but the sacrifice you have to make to use the 510 cart is too great to make it worth using. The 801 cart holds and uses a great deal of juice, so you don't have to top off every five minutes, or have a degree in cart fiddling to get any decent amount of time from a cart without refilling. Dripping is just too labor intensive and messy.

The stick comes with 5 pre-filled carts, RY4 in my experience.

FWIW it does not seem to be the same as the Janty adapter. An email from HG:
