I took my new Kissbox classic down the pub last night to see a rock band.
Half way through the first set I felt a burning sensation in my chest which turned out to be an extremely hot kissbox atomizer in my shirt pocket.
On checking things out the LED was flashing in time with the music!

I have never had this problem with other pen style devices.

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just an oversensitive switch?

Do they have a decibel rating?

Interesting. We've already found that atmospheric pressure changes (even caused by wind blowing over the e-cig) can trigger the automatic switch and turn on the atomizer. Now maybe vibrations can do the same. This could hold some real importance for how these are transported in the future. The cargo holds of jets -- not pressurized and noisy -- might not be desirable if a unit is transported with a charged battery attached.

Or ... you might have a faulty switch. This should be easy enough to test. Put a Janty in front of a loud speaker and crank up some vintage Mick Jagger.

Someone posted in an earlier thread that the auto-switch triggered whilst they were sailing. I can't remember if it was a Janty but as a sailor I find it believable. A rock concert once knocked one of my tooth fillings straight out once the bass guitarist started. Sailing never did that!

I've been using the KB manual switch - sailing and rock concerts aside - it works perfectly for me, though I'm careful not to keep it in my pocket for fear of triggering the switch accidentally.

I have done some Sound Pressure Level tests using a fairly loud hi-fi. :)

First: Remove the atomizer. I didn't do this initially and I now have two atomizers on the draining board after flushing out the cooked juice.

The Janty LED lights at around 110dB (very rough estimate).

I have also tried 3 generic classic batteries and 3 generic 901 batteries.
None of these would light even when in contact with the loudspeaker cabinet.

It sure sounds like Janty vacuum switches are more sensitive than others.

Shhhhh! Be quiet! Don't sneeze! You'll wake my Janty!

Is this the answer I was hoping for? Does this mean the New Zealand tests on Ruyan cartridges are applicable to Janty cartridges? If so, WHOOOOPEEE. We got our safety assurance.

Quote:
Are janty liquids made with propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin?

same as RUYAN liquids: propylene glycol

look at the Janty Italy lab reports, our other lab reports. Look at the ingredients and compare with Ruyan...not much of a difference.

Anyway, the NZ report is an internal document and governments tend to not even care about these. It will be the governments who set the standards anyhow.

Nevertheless, I bet most quality liquids are safe. There have been so many reports and people have been esmoking for a few years now and no one has had any issues. In the meanwhile people still smoke normal cigs and dun even care about tests of those

I'd love to see Janty lab reports but have only seen a partly obscured cover sheet so far, there was no testing information that I could see. Has Janty had toxicology tests on the suitability for inhaling carried out? It would be great to see the reports. The one you posted earlier for food safety tests on mice is not specific or relevant that I can see.

EDIT
I'm not bashing your juice Ludo, I use it myself and like it but if you can produce applicable toxicology lab reports it would raise confidence levels on the safety of your products.

I know Kate and I appreciate your contributions and criticism :) , but we do not have budgets to perform clinical tests on people ourselves. The tests from our liquid manufacturer show what is inside and how much percentage of what. The tests where done on mice indeed, we did not ask to do tests on mice, the tests are done by the liquid manufacturer. JANTY ITALY has payed for the tests in Italy, the results where submitted to the government and the government deemed safe for sale to the public, that's all we can do for now.

I can only say, compare Ruyan Liquid with JANTY liquid ingredients, it is the same stuff and therefore the results on humans would be the same. The greatest test however is the people smoking e-cigarette liquid for 2 years or more now, on all the forums worldwide, from different brands and they all feel better, not worse...
