Ludo,

I am waiting for replacement batts for the dead ones I have. Jeff thought the new ones would be in this week but I haven't seen anything yet. I hate to write him again. Are you saying the "new and improved" Dura batts aren't available yet? If so, I won't bug him yet.

Lu

How many dead ones do you have?
How much did you drip?

I read on an other forum the "new and improved" dura batts will not be available for an other 3 / 4 weeks.

So don't hold your breath.

My first 2 batts died; 2 replacements sent both died.....now waiting for those replacements.

I don't drip BUT I did make sure the cart was always wet so I did top off as I felt needed. That's what I do with my pens.....and the carts seemed large enough to take it....so I topped them off the same way. They vaped good like that when they worked. Had no idea that might be killing the batt (if that indeed was it). I only used them for about 2-3 days each before they died anyway.

Were there any specific cautions included about dripping? I don't know but I just never felt I needed to.

3/4 weeks? 8-o

Hope they do work, for that wait! :|

It seems the liquid penetrates the battery easily. When it reaches the sensor and the sensor gets covered with the liquid, the batt stops working. Letting it dry for a while might work.

Those who dripped liquid directly on the atomizer told us that the batt would die shortly after.

For now I suggest not to do either or wait for the new improved batts. We tried covering the airflow sensor, the result was a more heavy draw, so we're looking at other solutions. The ultimate solution however is the manual switched DURA-C. Working sample will be ready this weekend and if all goes well in the coming days, we will ship the DURA-C sets and batts out ASAP end next week.

Not all batts have tech problems, a lot of the batts problems have occurred because users drip liquid into the atomizer - which is a absolute no go! we have received and opened batts and found liquid on the sensor.

That is why JANTY will launch the DURA-C, no more batt problems and you just go ahead and give the atomizer a liquid BATH if you like :D

Hi Sherid,

I know, and I can tell you that other suppliers will encounter the same difficulties. We are working on it!

The new DURA-C will be available ASAP. We are working on it as I type... Give us 3 to 4 weeks for the launch.

As for the pricing of the normal DURA sets: We will follow the prices of the other suppliers for the JOYE510 model but we will give a 6 month warranty!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Interesting.

So what is it?
Customers spilling liquid on the battery/atomizer, or the fact that other suppliers will encounter the same problem?

If it's OUR problem as a consumer, because we spill liquid on a battery, why does Janty "has to work on it"?

It makes no sense, and frankly it insults me that Ludo is trying to blame me for a faulty product Janty puts on the market.
Telling me that I put liquid on the atomizer and that's why battery after battery and atomizer after atomizer fails.

Wow. freaking unbelievable.

Ludo, I think the Dura-C sounds great! But what do I do with the Dura I own and paid for....unless I get the new batts for it? Now if you want to replace it with the C, I'll gladly accept :D

Otherwise, I have to wait for those other batts to have a working ecig. Since I bought this one, I cannot buy another one unless I can get rid of this one first. Can't do that without working batts..lol

Sounds good. I think it's great that Ludo visits the forums and talks with his customers. Even with guys like Sanneke around.

I also have a Dura and 1 of the batts is fine. The other sometimes only comes on for 2 or so seconds then goes out. I mentioned it to Jeff and I ordered a spare atomizer as well (mine is fine BTW) so hopefully he popped a battery in there for me too. Jeff has been great so far.

Also for you people in this thread sayin "wah... i can't drip! It's my fault its broke!", BS. Ludo clearly acknowledged they have some batt problems and will take care of it. Jeez, no wonder most of the other vendors don't come around. I'm not a fanboy but i'd hate to see a vendor who actually shows up to get/give feedback get chased off by some short fused forum goers who are just trolling.

It's all over the place, all over this forums, that a dripping has caused people issues with batts. I'm a noob... and even i know this. and if you haven't been paying attention, and are simply just waiting to reply without reading:

The vendor has recommended that you do not drip.

So now you've been told. Take care of your electronics.

Well sanneke doesn't drip...and I don't drip, so I suppose this doesn't apply to us.

First of all I'm not a "guy" and I'm not a troll.

When I received my first dura I read the instructions, nowhere in there is it stated : "No dripping".

When my first Dura stopped working, I contacted Jeff, he did not ask me: did you drip"?
I even received an email from Ludo, he never ever stated : "do not drip".

I received 2 more units and one extra battery.
Everything failed within two weeks.

I have been vaping for almost a year.
I think I know what I'm doing by now.
Never ever have I had a problem like this before.
The KB had problems in the beginning, it took 4 more tries before that was solved.

Janty has a problem with their product, and their customer gets blamed.

Wow.
:sneaky:

Well now you've been educated. Will you listen? Who knows.

I'm curious to see if Janty takes care of any open issues you have.

All i'm saying is if you continue to drip and have problems, it is your fault now.

It may not have been before, like you said, no one told you not to, but i don't remember anywhere in the instructions where it said "now turn the ecig upside down and drip liquid directly onto the atomizer". Did I miss something?

If the dripping caused the malfunction, whether you get it or not, it's your fault. Serious, complaints like this are the reasons silicone pouches in bags of beef jerky say "DO NOT EAT". It's because there are actually people out there what will say "well you never told me not to so I just ate it, it's not my fault."

Maybe Janty needs a "do not eat" on it also.

If it was not related to the dripping, then the product of course was defective.

How about "oh crap, I'm not supposed to drip? Thanks, I didn't know. Thanks for sending a replacement anyway, I won't drip with it"

Thanks again for the healthy debate.

Just to put my two cents if I may...

Lets just deal with the facts on this:

1/ The Janty Dura/Joye 510 has a battery issue although the issue won't affect every user as you will see from the mixed reviews circulating.

2/ There is a big possibility on some batteries that liquid is getting through to the circuitry. This could happen not only from dripping, but even storing the cig cart end up when it's still filled with liquid.

There is no blame here, this is an issue which needs resolving and will be sorted asap.

3/ Janty have accepted this problem and are doing something about it

4/ The Dura-C battery will be out in 3-4 weeks and will overcome this problem and give the user more control by having a manual switch. This will be exclusive to Janty.

5/ If you own a Dura and are having problems in the meantime, use that warranty and if you want to try and prevent issues developing, don't drip and remember to remove your cart after use. This may save you a lot of time.

Sanneke I'm sure I would be just as fuming as you with all the problems you've had, and all I can say is that I'm sorry you've had such a run of bad luck but am sure that Janty will work this out for you.:)

I am very happy to wait for an improved model. I hope that Jeff or Ludo will be kind enough to send me a Dura C as a replacement too. I still haven't given up on the Dura. I was fully aware that there might be some first production run problems. I am very glad to see them addressed. Thank you Ludo for working on making this product better!

*edit* Oh and I Never dripped with the Dura.

Thank you smoke.....
I have been a loyal customer of Janty for a long time.

After my fist dura arrived I was VERY happy, it was great.
That lasted about 2 days.
When I contacted Janty I was told that there where only problems with some units in Europe, not in the USA.
So I tried to work with I what I had.
I was told to correctly screw the battery in the charger, I was told to use a different outlet in my home, because maybe the outlet was the problem.
I was told to use a different power cord.
Nothing worked.
I returned the first unit, received a new one, and actually bought an extra unit.
The reason I bought a second one, was because of the fact I did not want to be without a working dura.
Again within days broken parts, batteries + the atomizers.
Jeff did sent me one more battery.
Same story.

So I almost fell off my chair last night when I read what Ludo wrote.

I'm sure Janty will work this out, they always have in the past.
I don't see why there would be a difference this time.
