Hello guys, I just wanted to rant about how I feel with the whole nicotine ban on Canada.
I really feel jealous of our neighbors, the USA vapers. I mean, they can order from tons of sites, some of the best tasting juices, most awesome mods and they dont have to worry not even a bit about their stuff getting seized by customs.
Ive had two packages returned, and It makes me angry.

Sorry if I exaggerated a little bit, just wanted to express my feelings. Does anyone here feel the same?

Anyhow, chears people and vape happy. :vapor:

In terms of consumerism, EVERYTHING in the States is better. ISPs, clothing, food, Netflix, Hulu... hell even Amazon.com is infinitely better than Amazon.ca. Ever look into buying a house in Calgary?

The flip side is that we don't have any Republicans. Seems a fair trade off.

In all seriousness, what makes me most angry about the climate here in Canada is that there is no progress. No one seems to be working towards a solution. I know RachelCoffe had plans to take this to court, but I haven't heard any updates, nor do imagine there are any. It will be years before things change, I assume.

Thankfully I'm already on the bandwagon, but it's upsetting that so many Canadians still smoke just because they aren't as savvy as us.

I work downtown ottawa and use my pv in the smoking section and when out and about (also my office shhhh). I've had a lot of people stop me and ask if it's "one of the electronic gizmos". The second questions is always "does it have nic". It's difficult to get into as I'm walking to get a coffee most of the time and don't have time to get into it. But I do say "yes" and direct them here...given ecf is pretty easy to remember.

But I agree, it would make things much better. On the flip side I do find it frustrating not only with nic but the fact that everything is more expensive in cdn, including the shipping even. Even today I placed an order as I need atties and some flavors, so ordered in cdn. But ten minutes later I ordered from the us for a whack of drip tips and 6 atties as they are half the price. sucks. I'd say I currently shop 50/50 cdn/us

I've slowly moved from 100% cdn to about 20. It really is sad when Canada isn't as progressive as the "rest of the world".

Just think about how many of us could start legitimate companies in our cities and towns, providing awesome artisan flavours and the same competitive prices the US have...

I fully agree. And it sucks. I'd much rather buy local and have the two days shipping bonus as well. But on average I pay 8 to 10 bucks shipping, and often in the us it's 4 bucks! so if I can wait...like drip tips...two weeks isn't a big deal. I do think if one company started putting in us prices on gear even they'd be way ahead of the game.

Lol, ok our Govt is centre-right not just waaaaaay right lol

For kicks I just compared what I bought in us today vs what it would have cost in cdn. US was $54 total. That same order (and this is all gear, not liquid) $119 WOW.

Yeah, I don't like to think of how much I spent on my Bloog from the Canadian retailer, sheesh

We get screwed every which way here. Limited selection, crazy high shipping, uselessly slow Canada post, outrageous prices, no nic, and the list goes on... I recently had a US website quote me $25 to ship a $4 spring!

My wallet has no patriotism anymore, I'll buy wherever the best deal is. I like supporting Canadian companies, but I like having spending money and paying my bills more. As of now, I'm ordering 80% American, and 20% on the classifieds from fellow vapers, and even they have to be sweet talked into sending stuff up here most of the time...

It is what is is.. :(

Hi Concat. I completely agree with you - I'm angry too over the lack of progress. I've sent you two PM's with update info re: the suit, what happened with it...as well as the plan that followed, and what's happened with that. Emotions are running pretty high right now, so I think a public airing right now would only make things worse. Don't want to burn any bridges irreparably.

Suffice to say, with a few exceptions...I'm pretty well fed up with most of our Canadian industry now, and will be adjusting my purchases & recommendations accordingly, ASAP. If our vendors want to stick their heads in the sand, to blazes with them.

P.S. I want to put the above post in its proper context. To clarify...despite my feelings, I don't want to be ...... off at any of our suppliers. I want them all to thrive! The problem is, they have to want it too, and be willing to do what it takes.

It saddens me that things are in the state they're in. All I can do is pray they'll turn around for the better. Which is certainly a possibility...so there's reason to hope. No matter how bad things look right now...we have to hold out hope for a brighter tomorrow. What else can we do? I've learned the hard way that you can't force people to see sense.

This song pretty much sums up the sad & wishful longing I feel right now about all this. Wouldn't it be nice...

"You know it seems the more we talk about it / It only makes it worse to live without it / But let's talk about it / Oh wouldn't it be nice..."
