For all the new users getting new batteries are there are good rules for breaking in a battery?

I have heard to charge for 8 hours, use for 20 min. then charge an additional hour to condition the battery.

Fact or fiction?

Have also heard this. Not sure if it works or not, but I did this procedure for all of my new batts, charged until green light, used for around 30 mins, then recharged.

I have done both on two completely different sets(two sets of 14500's/two sets of 14650's) of batteries and have yet to see any differences in either set as far as holding a charge or length of time they last(lifespan). Both sets are at least a year old and are used daily and still average almost identical "run times".
