My story began a bit over a month and a half ago. The truth is that I actually quit smoking over a year and a half before I started vaping, but every single day I missed smoking. I knew if I didn't do something, I was going to start smoking again, just like I did every time I had quite before, and I was reaching my breaking point. I thought about vaping, but I was skeptical of the health aspects of it, so I looked in some medical journals (perk of being in college is having access to databases of professional journal articles and studies) about vaping, and was surprised to find that there was no evidence of any real harm to vaping at this time. I watched some testimonial videos on YouTube, browsed forums, talked to some of my vaping friends... And while still skeptical that I would like it, I walked into a local vape shop to pick up my first vaporizer: A Vision Spinner with a Kanger T3S clearomizer tank. The first hit I took was the first time since I was 18 (9 years) that I had absolutely no more desire to smoke a cigarette. Fast forward about a week, I got my first regulated box mod (Smok M80 plus, which had to be replaced after 3 weeks due to some manufacturing defects with a Sigelei 100W plus) and a Kanger SubTank Mini, about a week after that, I got my first RDA (Wotofo Troll), and about 2 weeks ago I got my first mechmod (a Calvert clone) and a MutationX V4.
Vaping has pretty much satiated everything smoking ever provided me... I smoked pipes, cigars and RYO cigarettes because I enjoyed it more as a hobby than anything, and changing cotton, building coils, dripping, etc. has been a great substitute for all of that. It also has a sense of community. I know when I go into a local shop, I'm probably going to be in there for a little bit talking to the employees and other customers, sampling flavors, asking about products and sharing stories.
