Being crazy AND sane at the same time can have it's drawbacks. Last time that happened was when I was at a restaurant and the waitress asked me if I wanted cream in my coffee. I said "Sure". She started pouring and the crazy in me came out and said "Keep pouring until *I* tell you to stop! DO YOU UNDERSTAND???". She kept pouring until the "sane" came out and said "Ok, thank you!"

I ended up drinking a cup of milk.

Half of this town is on it, too... They think it's their god given right as breathing able bodied human beings. Some of them I happen to interact with end up telling "hey man go get your check" and I'm well qualified for thousands worth of "back pay" which is retroactive payment for "benefits I deserve but never received"

It's no wonder we have so many people just laying around in their own pee and saliva.. Really.. They'll give you a check for being just about anything. Alcoholic, druggie, tired slothenly idiot, you name it.

Then.. there's a man like my father who worked all of his life paying in and paying in... Gets down to where he can't work, and they made him fight like to have any benefit. This is a man who misses working so badly, not only was he willing to be employed when he lost his business but he worked until he COLLAPSED ON SITE and had another stroke..

But let me put a bottle to my mouth and walk in there and they'd have me in "assisted living" and receiving a "cash assistance" and "food programs" and everything else.

I'd be a kept man before I'd do something like that. Lazy bums on government checks is just forced stealing from the working man and woman. At least I'd still be EARNING mine!!

I would probably live under a bridge before collecting a government assistance or being kept.

Although being kept IS tempting .. and it's not forced .. so it's not as bad as the government check ... and I can ALMOST talk myself into rationalizing it .. sometimes .. but then I start thinking clearly again .. DAMN THE LUCK
