I have been vaping with a joye 510 manual since january 2011, I am still using one of the original attys that I got initially, still works great and I vape heavily. I killed my extra atty trying to bring it back to life, but in my experimentations I found a way to revive them in about 30 minutes so I just had to post this info. After using an atty for awhile the vapor diminishes and becomes hard to draw. Place the atty in a metal pan "I use a small metal measuring cup" add enough water to cover and a little dish soap, place on stove burner and bring to a boil while stirring for a minute or two, the dish soap will foam up so lift the pan if needed to prevent spilling on stove top, run cold water into pan to cool atty and rinse well, rinse pan and repeat boiling but without soap, cool again and blow out from both ends. stand the atty on the battery end on another stove burner on the warm setting, most stove burners do not exceed 250 deg on the warm setting, leave it there for 15-20 minutes, allow to cool, put 3 drops of your liquid in the atty and place a full cartridge on it. Enjoy. This has worked for me at least a dozen times on my atty, also at first the vapor is a little weak but after a bit of use it vapes like new.

Suggestion for attys - If you don't wait too long, they wash out nicely under hot tap water and let them sit on a napkin to dry for a day. Use a little desktop fan and have them dry in an hour or so. A little less effort for the same outcome. I've done the double boil and also alcohol soaking with no difference from hot tap water.

I would think twice about the poly yarn. It might wick well, but what chemicals are you taking in if you run it dry and start burning the packing? Or even heating the yarn for that matter. Something to think about. Really cool you are experimenting to make things work better and last longer.
