I've been reading through all this to find if both lights are suppose to be green and then I couldn't find the answer! Or I might have missed it. Soooooooo....are both lights AC/Wall Charger and USB Charger suppose to be green??? I just have my USB turn green and it seems to last me the whole day. BTW, I have the eGo kit which came with the wall charger. Also, what is the correct way of charging? Put in the wall charger, plug in the USB and then screw in the eGo battery? Thanks in advance!

I believe plug in the ego battery after you have plugged everything else in.

Is that some sort of a threat? This is a forum where people can share their opinions, mingle, discuss about ecig/products and ecig topics. I'm not changing my information just because you want to be right.

But yet you continue to give your "tune" a very bad attitude in your writing than keeping a consistent legitimate discussion about the forum itself. There is nothing wrong with comparing data to one another, if I remember correctly. This review has nothing to do with vaporbomb so I kindly ask you to take that topic elsewhere.

You've taken arguments from singular to plural with others on this thread now because you disagree with our claims.
Whatever dude. I don't see how you could possibly take that as a threat. But at least you are consistent with reading what you want and manipulating it. You are ignoring facts.

My advice was to hide so everything could blow over and you could save face. But you continue. It's fine. We all know what to expect from you now.

Pretty sure people are now aware what to expect from you jacking other people's threads. You can't be reasoned with or talked to. I'm not manipulating anything and others have mentioned the same experience with the charge time.

Only if they read this thread, then maybe they might think that.

Facts about products are all that matter to me. That's it. Nothing more.

I'm done with you.

Good day to you sir.

Just some quick FYI's for those who haven't been able to fully follow along.

1) Battery charging times are, in the present day and age, a function of the chemical makeup of the battery. While how much power the battery gets is technically part of the equation, it rarely is in practice, as delivering enough power to recharge a battery as fast as its chemical makeup can handle is relatively trivial. For some batteries, you may notice an exception to this if you charge on an unpowered USB port off of a computer (but this is the exception, not the rule).

2) "Fast chargers" don't really charge at a different rate. They just say they're "All done" earlier, when they aren't really. However, these are normally used for LiIon, and the point at which a fast charger says you're done should be good enough, most of the time. Since LiIon doesn't have "memory," it doesn't really hurt to do these partial charges. Some devices that monitor the charging process (especially software on laptops) does get "out of whack" when you do repeated partial charges, so in general it's a good idea to do a full charge (from dead to 100% capacity) every once in a while (every 30 charges or so).

Of course, this is all a gross oversimplification of how these things work, but should clear things up for a few people. Hopefully. ;)

So is the USB and wall adapter light suppose to turn green? Or just the usb light? My wall adapter light never turns green. If I'm not mistaken all the wall adapter does is provide 5volts at 500mAh to the usb charger which has all the charging circuits in it. The wall adapter is just a transformer and thus the light just indicates A/C power is applied.
That is true, that is how they are supposed to work.

It's a shame that people review things and don't have the knowledge, but pretend they do. I don't review anything, but If I did I would state my opinion. If I had a magical charger that charges in half the time the manufacturer states. I would be worried.

All I know, If I really thought what I was saying is true. I would not change my tune to appease nay sayers like the OP did.

I tried to advise to hide. But you refused, and now look. You will never ever be forgotten about this or your vaporbomb threads. It could've happened but you wouldn't allow it.
Yup! the OP didn't/doesn't know where to draw the line, in the process lost all credibility. I did a profile search and checked his posts. It seems that most of his posts starts off with an over the hill adjective only to dwindle into a POS a day or so later.

IMO there is not enough objective reviews out there. Let's be absolutely honest here. A 3.7V device that uses battery X, will perform just as well as another 3.7V device that uses the same battery X, using the same atomiser (atomisers will make a difference), as well as different batteries, not miles apart, . Or reviewing a device using highly concentrated VG liquids stating wow awesome vapor, tons of vapour.

It is the difference that need to be pointed out between device X and Y IMHO. The button, the thread fit, the ease of use, the weight, the size etc... Because at the end of the day, a 3.7 device is just another 3.7 device. That being said the eGo is not just a 3.7V device. It uses a 3.7V battery. The current delivered to the battery is pulsed giving an average of 3.1-3.2V consistently until it dies. The cone is not purely for aesthetics, it serves a purpose. It warms the incoming air (adding to the warmth some folks like) and cools the atty down in the process.

So when someone from the windy city conducts a review stating everything that has all ready been written about the eGo and makes bogus claims on battery charge times, well... Folks have an inherent right to know who are credible and who are not. The review was well written. Too bad the facts were not. First timers see that and leave with the impression that a 650mAh eG0 batt can be charged in 5 minutes or a 1300mAh batt in an hour.

AC adapter
input: 100-240v~50/60hz 0.1A max
Output:4.7v---0.08A

Ego usb
Input: DC 5v 500mA
Output: 4.2v 420mA

I noticed the outputs are differant. Would this matter or would this mess up my battery?
Bolb text = ???

eGo wall adapter. Model JOYE510-306-PCC:

  • Input 100-240Volts, 50/60Hertz, 100mA or 0.1A
  • Output 5V = 500mA or 0.5A
eGo USB charger:

  • Input DC 5V 500mA
  • Output DC 4.2V 420mA
510 charger:

  • Input AC 100/240V 50/60 Hertz
  • Output DC 4.2V 200mA
BTW the 0.08A = 80mA

Your wall plug should be putting out more than that.

If you have an original JOYE charger, then your light will remain red which indicates the power is going to the USB charger.

I plug my adapter to the wall and then screw the batt into the USB adapter. When charging non proprietary LI Ion batts, I prefer to place the batts in first then plugged the charger in (added measure of safety)

I can see you are an individual who is relatively young, and are still maturing. In order to see you blossom into a full blown mature adult I would take the following advice to heart.

Think twice about what you post, because you never know who may be reading what you post, and individuals might just know what they are talking about. This is what this thread has turned into, not your review per se, well yes the misinformation contained in your review.

I am a former Marine and 2nd Class Stationary Engineer by profession. Your charging claims are a physical impossibility, if the battery has been fully discharged (read discharged, not depleted). and... There is no way that a USB port off your computer will charge a battery faster than the wall.

So to continue on this venue of flopping back and forth between originally posted info, then changing your mind, going back to originally posted info, has done nothing to add any credence of what you have written here, or the majority of your posts in general.

So yes better aromas can be found in pastures because it is getting rather thick in here.

)

I think you mean power is available to the USB charger - basically, it means that the power supply is plugged into the wall... the light turns on and is red weather or not the USB charger is plugged into it ..

There was a thread I found a while back that went into detail on this (and why I had asked Icey) - If you put the battery into the charger first, and then plug the charger into the source (wall or USB) you are supplying power to the charger from the battery- It was argued that this could change the behavior of the circuitry that turns your light from red to green. By plugging the charger into the source first, you are in effect resetting the circuitry....

I apologize in advance for responding to this. But you are dead wrong.

A powered USB hub can provide 1000ma to a single device (if my memory of the USB spec is correct).

Regardless of that fact, I have a USB charger that provides a DC output of 4.2 volts @420ma. I have wall charger with an output of 4.2v @230ma.

Guess which charges faster? USB.

I'm not pointing this out to be confrontational. However I am a systems engineer (read: electronics/computer systems) with 22 years experience. I hate misinformation being provided to people.

For those who are unaware, a "Stationary Engineer" is responsible for operation of boilers, gas turbines, and heat recovery steam generators. Hardly an expert in electronics.

However, I do want to sincerely thank Switched for his service to our country.

I really appreciate you sharing about your personal status, but no sorry I'm not interested in you, switched  . I don't know why you're telling me this but I really doubt you are a Marine to begin with and I happen to know some who don't type or talk in a robotic fashion.

Like you and Bert, you have a fixation on watching all my posts and consistently reply in ......ation fashion talking like steven hawking. Formalities are good, but even your every reply has proven to be no better than an average forum pest (what they really are called) to feel better about them selves talking people down.

Oh and I've taken the liberty to message others to have your account reported & myself. I love to chat with you but I'm not interested in a Marine 2nd Engineer trying to come onto me. See I happen to like women not men, which I'm pretty much settled at the moment.

You are correct to a point. The problem is it doesn't matter what the wall or computer usb port puts out over 500mah because the usb charger that comes with the device has an output of 4.2volts at 420mAh. So as long as the usb charger gets an input of 5volts and at least 500mAh it's going to charge at the same rate regardless of input mAh.

Exactly. He keeps thinking I'm recharging my Joyegos from Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. on a wall carger "screw-in" when instead it's on a USB connected to the WALL charger, NOT laptop or Pc.

He's just angry because he has a grudge with me. He has absolutely no respect for anyone here or to others experiencing and sharing information.

Are you using the usb charger that came with the ego kit pluged into a different wall charger?
