Personally, I go for the Vamo over the eVic, if I had to choose one... but I didn't. I got both.

I like the eVic's size when using an 18650 battery -- it's quite a bit smaller than the Vamo in that configuration. It's also nice to be able to charge just by plugging in a USB cable.

The Vamo, though, can use other batteries, so if I really want to keep it small, I've got that option. It does involve removing caps, but that's not a big deal -- though the threading on the end cap on mine isn't great, and I wouldn't put down bets on how long it takes before they're cross-threaded or stripped. It also just feels more solid than the eVic. Whether either of them could survive a drop, I have no idea, but the Vamo feels like it could. The eVic, not so much.

Sure, the eVic has lots of data and reporting functions... and I'll never use them. I use multiple PVs, so stuff like puff counters and vaping history on just one of them aren't very useful to me. I also find the eVic a bit complicated to use, which I feel like it really shouldn't be, given that it's got a multi-line screen and more flexible controls than the three buttons on the Vamo... but somehow the Vamo is much easier for me to work with.

I also like my RBAs, particularly my big ones. The look great on the Vamo, but make my eVic look like it's got a really bad case of encephalitis.

So, my verdict? I'd go with the Vamo. You get more flexibility in size and portability, a more streamlined user interface, construction that at least feels sturdier, and it doesn't look stupid with a giant atomizer on top.

[Edit: Throwing in a photo of the Vamo and eVic with some Provaris to show the size difference, and try to imagine how the Terminator on the Vamo would look on the eVic... it's not pretty.]

I found PBusardo's eVic review very thorough and interesting (although long):

probably relevant to add this as well

Also, you can readd your name/time in 2 seconds from the MVR software after you update it.

I like his reviews but he picks and chooses things to like/dislike. He'll have same issue on multiple devices, says it's no big deal on one and a big deal on another.

15 watts max output - only does 11 watts, quite a large discrepancy imo.

Most people don't vape on 15 watts because at that point, you are burning the juice. And honestly, who thought an 18650 could do 15 watts when it can't do it on any device out there, no matter what is advertised. 2 18350's stacked were the only way I got it to 15 watts of power.

As a note, I use my vamo alot more than my evic, waiting for firmware 2.0 to be released.

I am at work so blocked from the video posted but I am guessing they didn't post the 1.1 version updated review from Pbusardo as well. Where he goes from no thumbs to a thumbs up although he didn't seem enthusiastic about it. I am pretty new here but I have noticed everybody will tell you what they have is the best. I don't get it. I bought the Evic yesterday. It's pretty decent. Does have a feminie feel to me(just my opinion) It's my first APV and I am newish to vaping so I won't be alot of help as far as comparison.

The reason I ultimately chose the Evic was because of the flexibility I think the firmware will give it eventually with feedback from customers. I mean imagine the possibilities later on. They could set something up where you could go online and input whether you like a warm vape or a cool vape and then upload to the device and when it reads the ohms change the watts/volts to a setting that would give you the type of vape you want. Or maybe even a submenu that can be moved to the front screen with devices+juices settings and how you like to vape that combo and you select what you are attaching and it reads the ohms and changes the watts/volts to your preference for that juice(heck that might already exist and if it does let me know lol). I think something like that would be cool. Plus being a newbie probably tons of other stuff I don't even know about lol. Not saying it will happen but at least with the Evic it is a possibility.

In the meantime it gives me a way better experience than my twist did but it is my first APV. Now I just need some lower level nic because I couldn't stop caping it last night lol.

Thanks! The feminine appeal is apart of the reason I considered the evic! I don't want a huge device & I do have small hands! At this point I think I'll eventually end up with both!! This new addictive world of vaping LOL!

I think the 15 watt thing is way overblown. It hasn't been listed like that since 1.1 came out so it's really not relevant to a discussion now for people looking to buy it.

Lots of devices get overblown stats and some devices sold barely even work, I think people harp on this with the eVic because it's Joye which makes it more mainstream than other mods.

Yea, if the VapingPowerChart floating around the toobs is even remotely accurate, anything 10W or over is well into overkill(looks like 9W is the upper "ideal" power output)
It seems most users/reviewers of PVs with VV/VW say the best is around 8W anyway

Ok so... if you're using the evic VV mode and say you have a 1.5ohm carto and you're at 5 volts isn't that more than 11 watts? 5x5=25/1.5=16.6666667 so would there be and amperage limitation there?

You would blow your coil. It would be 3.33amps, but the coil would pop.

So I bought an Evic and It does go over 2.5 amp I put it in VV mode, it has no limit on my 1.5ohm carto, it works all the way to 5V and you can tell a difference every increment. When I plugged it in to my MVR software and looked at the status with a 1.5 ohm on it was reading around 2.7 amps on like 4.3 volts or something. I was just under the assumption that it was on a 2.5 amp switch but I don't think so anymore. I really love this thing I can't stop playing with it, it was worth every penny.
