After batteries, chargers, and such the price seems similar so I pulled the trigger on the evic. I actually had provari mini, ss vamo, all in carts ready to check out but the evic pulled me in @ 104 shipped with Dual Coil 510 Cartomizer tank 3.5ml from altsmoke. I like how the evic is packaged like starter kit, minus atomizer. I am guessing I will buy them all but evic is going to be the 1st.

I am really trying hard not to pull the trigger on an eVic. I've also obsessed heavily over the Vamo. This would be my first major mod (still on the same pair of eGo Twists I started with a month ago).

The eVic is appealing because of the lack of needing an external charger, the pass-through-ability, and the fact that it comes as a kit and I don't have to figure out what batteries/charger to get with it. It seems like the eVic and Vamo come out to close to the same price when you throw in the necessary accessories (batteries, charger, eGo adapter).

I really don't see the voltage limit as affecting me at this point. I currently use T2s, T3s, and Vivi Novas with around 2.2-2.4 ohms at 3.8-4.3 volts. Serious questions: With what sort of setup would the volt/amp limit affect me? Why would I want/need such a setup?

I bought it for the same reason. I have not had an issue with T2's at 1.8 or 2.2 ohms besides needing a 510 to ego adapter. They fire but no airflow without it. I have been vaping a vivi nova as well with no issues at the wattage you listed, no adaptor needed for it.

I've had my evic for about 2 weeks now and am totally satisfied with it. I really question why so many people here in the forums put so much stock in video reviews by the latest ecf hero with a webcam. Product reviewers often have agendas that bias their reviews so their reviews have to be taken with a big grain of salt. Anyone who has a problem with the evic's menu system or usb port cover likely have problems opening a cereal box or using a smart phone. And grainy threads on the battery tube cap? Mine doesn't have that. An adjustment ring that rattles when the device is shaken hard? The metal band on a Rolex will rattle when shaken hard. So I guess I shouldn't buy a Rolex if I want a quality build. Geez... As for the quality of the build I feel the evic to be a solid device. Heavier does not mean better. It feels very comfortable and balanced to me.

The evic does what I need it to do. If one wants to go above 5V then buy something else. I myself don't need more than 5V for my chosen delivery devices. My sole complaint with the evic is the shutoff after 60 minutes idle. It's stupid that they didn't incorporate a "sleep never" setting but that should be a simple firmware fix hopefully in a future upgrade.

I don't own a Vamo, but intend to get one.

From my own personal experience, owning both an Evic and a zMax, the zMax is far above the eVic in my personal opinion in regards to physical construction and a sense of durability/sturdiness. The threading on the eVic feel grainy and as if it was tapped/cut just once and considered done. The threading on my zMax feels finished and machine shop decent quality. Oh and the threading for 510 devices also seems sloppy and the only thing from really keeping a tank/clearomizer from wobbling is the tension that is created as the tank bottoms out. If it weren't for that, the tank/clearo would easily wobble about based upon thread clearances.

The menuing on the eVic is nicer though and far more intuitive.

I had higher hopes for the eVic and while I do use it, it slightly irks me how it feels built.

I say the vamo. Evic has too many issues and useless bells and whistles. I mean do you really care what resistance and volts you were using two weeks ago?

I completely agree. The bells and whistles seem pointless. Plus, now there's a recall on quite a few of the eVics.

Ive read that its best to get a wall charger for the evic, its faster and safer,it wont damage your mother board which has happened to some people here i hear.

Either will offer you VV as well as VW.

The Evic is cool since you can upgrade the firmware it uses, but it's still not quite there yet.

The Vamo has a super simple menu, and is really accurate in RMS mode.

They have improved the spring because the first models were rather weak. The gunmetal finish doesn't hold up well so I wouldn't recommend that finish.

I bought a Vamo because it had great reviews, I wanted to try out VW, and it was super cheap. I love it and have another in Stainless steel on the way.
That's very interesting Underwhelmed,,,cuz I've been Vaping a Genesis atty on a custom but, it doesn't have VV or VW and I've decided I want it,,,I had narrowed my search down between the same two,,,so,, having heard your endorsement I think that settles it for me,,,on to the VAMO,,,
Thanks,
PS - Btw, I just got a new ceramic wick (from scubabatdan) and it's super,,,If ya haven't tried one,,think about doing so..
