Does is say anything on the screen, like 'No Atomizer Find/Found'? Or does it say 'Atomizer Short' I have some china atty's that I put on the Evic and it says 'no atomizer found' but I don't have any problems with my regular rba. I tried post pulling these atty's but it still did not register on the Evic.

Okay, so it turns out the problem was something with my battery? I brought it back to the vendor and after some trouble shooting we found out the problem was whenever I charged my battery using the internal charger, for some reason that battery would not allow the device to fire. Its very very strange but I ended up getting 2 free batteries and a 18650 multi-wall charger for free out of it. I just have to take out the batteries to charge them for now on instead of using the charge system it came with. And an answer to your question, no it didn't say atomizer short or anything. It worked as if nothing was even wrong with it, just didn't fire at all. It would detect the atomizer. The timer would go and everything just no vapor. I'm glad its working now though. I love my eVic.

That is stange...what batteries are you using?

The Samsung ICR that came with the Evic kit is O.K. but nothing special. I prefer to use the grey Panasonic CGR18650CH 2250 mah. I have a whole mess of those in flat tops.

Not having the USB is one less feature to use on your Evic. Plus, how do you use your MVR program?...Take out the battery first?

If the problem was the battery then why can't you use the internal charger now with a good battery?

Is there any advantage on flat top batteries vs. nipple(?) top batteries in the eVic? Seems like the nipple tops would be a tighter fit. I'm sorry if this was covered before. My search-fu is apparently spectacularly poor. I can't taste my e-juice today either. Damn cold.

I would imagine other than fit there will be no difference.

That's what I thought, but when it comes to these expensive lil' buggers I feel like it's part of my due diligence to ask
stupid and redundant questions, heh. Part of me says "a battery is a battery," while the other part (the part that is
scientifically curious but, simultaneously, a bit lazy) is screaming "NO! Make sure you use the BEST battery!"

Looking at joyetech's own site, looks like the one to use is the green 18650B Sanyo.
Which is a flat top.
Go me.
:p

Absolutely Not the Battery at fault. The fault is the eVic is locking up(software) when trying to exit charge mode. There is an issue with your eVic period and finding a work around only extends the time before it fails all together and lets the vender of the hook.

They need to replace the unit and return it to Joyetech if needed for warranty.

The nipple tip batteries won't allow the end cap to screw on all the way, about one thread shy........not a huge deal though.

My Evic arrived today looks amazing, charged it up and had a play it is running the 1.2 version and i must say im very impressed, im using a kanger t3 bottom coil clearo and it is 2.5ohm i set up at 4,2v 7w and its amazing :)
The battery that came with it is 2600mah i was looking at getting a 3600mah or even 4000 or 4900mah, does anyone know if the larger mah battery fit ok and are ok to use with the evic?
Cheers matt.

I heard as long as its flat top and standard size its probably okay. some batteries with protection can be longer.
also I dont believe 4000 or even 4900mah 18650's exist. even reputable brand ICR's like panasonic can only put 3600 mah in a standard 18650. some of those said 4000 mah batteries only has less than 2000 mah during test.
you can get a protected panasonic 18650 3600 mah. its decent battery.

Holy battery life, Batman!

Coming from 18490s on a ProVari, I'm shocked at how much vape time I'm getting out of this thing (evic with standard 2600mahs). Bring on the 3400mah batteries!!

And I love being able to see my remaining battery % without having to get to a menu!

On another battery note...
Can anyone comment on what batteries you're using with the eGo-T mod 18350 tube? AW IMR w/button top? Some other flat top?

I hear ya! I have been using 1.8 ohm clearo's since I got mine with great vape time per charge. Today I used my modified 1.5 OHM DCT (modified by disabling the second coil, basically a 3 OHM single now).. 12 hours in and 74% remaining!

Love mine too adeline.
I am using the stock 2600mah's-
's because I bought an extra battery...now, I don't know why, this battery never runs down.
I will give out long before the battery runs down... will have to become my long road trip or multi-day hiking PV !
May have to give 'Nick' (name of my eVic) a new colored tube birthday present next month !

Yeah I bought 2 extra batteries!! How silly of me!

I have a telescoping body in the mail (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/apv-discussion/377672-evic-beware-dwarf.html) but I think I want something short and low-key for the office. I sit right outside the Director's office, and I need something just a wee bit stealthier. I was thinking of getting a basic short tube for it (eGo-T Mod 18350 tube). I can use whatever batteries I want in the telescoping body, but I want the 18350 batteries to fit the eGo-T mod tube as well (seems to be the best option at the moment - cheap and easy).

I know others are using that tube -- what batteries are you running with it? :)
