Wish I knew. I'm kind of bookmarking the thread in hopes of learning more about interchangeability of chargers. In particular, I'm using prosmoke which comes with a wall charger and usb cord. Since I can use their charger and my computer, my thinking is that I could also use just any usb wall charger that would fit the cord.

Sorry for scabbing onto your question. Maybe I should go ahead with a thread of my own.

If I understand your question correctly, I think you'll be fine. Those ego's do use the 510 connection with a cable to wall or usb.

Thanks!! I thought it would. I have a ego-c passthrough that I just use that cord it came with for charging it but I screwed it into the 510 charger last night just to see if it will fit and it did. I didn't plug it in to see if it would actually charge though...didn't want to mess up the battery if it didn't work.

It probably depends on what kind of 510 charger you have. Mine won't work with eGo batteries. Plus, I think different chargers have different output capacities and are designed for specific batteries. Someone more knowledgeable than I will be able to provide more details.

You could always order an eGo charger from a US vendor. They're relatively inexpensive. Considering the wait time from FT, you'd probably receive the charger first.

Bookmarking is a lazy man's technique to find a thread you've posted in. Once you've posted, you can click the "What's New" tag in the upper left of the screen to get a list of Your Posts. It works fine if you don't have hundreds of recent postings. You can also subscribe to a thread without posting. I've done it once, and forgotten how.

You can use a mini cig sized/ 510 charger on an eGo 650/ 1100 mah BUT you CANNOT use an eGo charger on a Mini 510.
Using a mini cig sized/ 510 charger on an eGo 650/ 1100 mah will take awhile though.

Thanks!! Whats a while? 5 hrs vs. 2 hrs? will it degrade the battery life? will the light on the charger change just like when I charge the 510 on it??

Thanks to everyone for the help!!! I don't think that I would have stuck with vaping if I hadn't had such a GREAT support and information system that ECF has provided me!! Thank you!

I believe the light works by detecting the ability for current to flow from the batter to the device. This stops happening when the device is fully charged. So it should turn off but it will take a long long time. It most likely will degrade battery life, as batteries are rated for charge as well as discharge. If you discharge too fast you can damage the battery, I would assume the vice versa which is charging to slow.

You can use a 510 charger to charge an eGo battery. However, there's one problem beyond how long it will take to charge. The longer a battery spends charging, the more likely it will overheat. So, if you must use a 510 charger, take the eGo off and let it cool down periodically so that it doesn't overheat.

Or, even better, just buy an eGo charger.
