Just received my manual 510 today and WOW is all I can say. The vapor production and throat hit is far superior to any other vaporizer I have ever experienced, including a ScrewDriver, M401, RS-888 Mini-Pipe etc.

I am really enjoying it, but I am scared to get too excited as I feel like this thing could die at any minute after reading some of the other reviews. If this thing holds up, I would not see any reason to buy any other e-cig in the near future, but then again, wasn't that always the problem with the 510?

My only concern is that I usually carry my vaporizers in my 5th pocket, but am concerned that the button will be accidently held down causing the atomizer to burn out. Does any one out there with the manual 510/Dura have any experience with this?

The 510/Dura is kind of like an exotic luxury mobile, when it works its amazing, but it breaks more than a Honda (DSE901?).

Thanks.

I finally broke down and ordered a 510-C tonight :).

Yes, I am concerned about the battery problems but one person who has one (convinced me to get one) says that he has been watching this and that if things die they do so usually within within the first two weeks.

None the less, I plan on ordering at least 2-3 atomizers and a couple batteries next month to go with it. An 801 with too many vaporizer failures made me a believer in having spares :). I really do NOT want to have to go back to analogs.

Right now, with one atomizer working I am filling in with analogs and it is pretty disgusting which sure keeps it from getting out of hand :).

From all I have heard, it seems the 510 is about the best out there, so we jump in :).

As for tripping the switch on the batteries, I have an old Altoids tin I lined with the stuff that the 801 was shipped in. Can get in 2 batteries, 2 carts and a tiny little bottle to refill with if necessary quite comfortably and it fits in a shirt pocket like a pack of analogs once did. Will use that for the 510 batteries too until I can afford a PCC.

got my manual 510 today.. much faster than expected from electronicstix.. absolutely love it.. only thing i think is important to mention is that the manual batteries have no LED.. i didnt realize that as it wasnt on the site, but its not a major issue for me.. ill use it when i want to be more undercover like in the movies :) .. im probably going to just order an auto battery to go along with it for when i want the light.. but the battery lasted about 6 hours of heavy usage today.. i went through about 3 carts.. and im really impressed with how well it produces vapor.

Undercover my foot! With all the vapor coming out even holding in really long and blowing into my shirt isn't concealing it. People will think my clothes are on fire.

I got automatic batteries for when I want to keep it in my pocket.

I forgot to mention in my review that the one I was referring to was the 510 kit I purchased from Electronicstix.com and the shipping was amazing. I ordered it on Tuesday evening and got it Thursday! I have ordered another couple kits from Dietsmokes and Janty, but the funny thing about it was that I ordered from Electronicstix last and got it first. Jason is really great and will reply to your emails super quick! I definately will be doing much more business with him!

Also, Jason told me that he is expecting a new shipment soon of manual 510s with a LED as well. Looks like I have an excuse to buy a few more kits now :D.

With the quality concerns with the Dura/510, is it wise to get a 510 with a non Janty warranty.? (14 days)

DaveB,

You have a valid point. Janty's warranty definitely may be worth it, as I have already gone through 2 atomizers in 4 days! No matter what, I would have a couple extra atomizers on hand to get you by while waiting for replacements to come!

asidrave,

I'm not sure what is going on with these things. I have been topping off the carts often and never needing more than 2 drops to overflow the cart. I talked to someone else who has been on the same atomizer for a couple weeks now and she drips on the atomizer, so I am putting one drop on the atomizer when refilling the cart to see if that will help prolong the life of this one!

If you can afford/want to keep a stash of atomizers on hand, this is one awesome vaporizer!

The 2 I lost I'm attributing to either a wonky batch or bad auto batt. Everything returned, replacements arriving today. I'm continually topping off about 3 drops to keep everything moist. I haven't been dripping on the atom as I've seen clear evidence with both the auto and manual batts of liquid seeping up between the batt and atom. I'm being really careful of the temp. The atoms I lost were not a result of over-vaping. One had less than an hr on it with breaks in between.

With the one auto batt, the atom got hot and had the pop/hiss sometimes others have reported. So thought it was normal. Also took a long time to cool down. So I marked it and quit using it. With all the other batts I stay with pleasantly warm. Any more than that and I break it down and switch atoms. My others have been fine since. So make of it what you will.

As to the warranty issue, will have to wait and see what prices are when Janty's back up. Last I saw they had $15.95. If it stays that, then better deal in the long run. Would still keep plenty of spares on hand. The 2wk isn't bad either though with a significant price diff, especially if ship issues aren't fixed at Janty. Most are 2wks from arrival. So if one is returned and warranty replaced in the 1st 2wks the warranty on the replacement should be 2wks from receipt of the replacement. The atoms are the same other than the logo. If there are just occasional wonky atoms here or there the 2wk should be fine to weed out the bad ones.

i got a 510 manual from jason and it arrived on saturday and worked great all weekend then this morning one of my manual batteris somehow got stuck ON without the button being pressed and burnt out an atomizer :(

it did this unattended?

my evening "done vaping for the day" ritual before bed is to disassemble
the battery, atomizer and cart. blow out the atomizer gently into
a napkin to dry it out over night.

I never leave batteries attached.

it happened at work today, i was switching batteries when it happened. i took the atomizer off of the dead battery and put it on the other one and set it down a few seconds later i smelled something burning and picked it up and it was really hot and i could barely touch it. i got it apart and let it cool down. i put 2 drops of liquid on the atomizer and tried to reatach it and it made a pop then it was dead. i tested the atomizer on an a multi-meter and it showed open - no resistance, and the battery was showing 4 volts with out the switch pressed. the other battery only shows voltage when the switch is pressed.
