It's been a week now with the rebuildable head and I thought it was time for a dryburn and rewick.

As you can see it was quite gunked up.

Then a bit of hot water run through.

Not too bad usually a wick like that I would give a few more days, but I wanted to try a fresh piece of cotton.

Vapes as good as new and no burnt plastic smell or taste after the dryburn.

The bit of leaking I had is gone I think I just had to relearn to vape it like it was a new device. Was taking to many primer puffs and too long of drags for this tank.

So does anyone know the size of o-ring for the tank base? Or anywhere to get replacements? mine looks a bit streached out.

I got my CLR heads today. I agree. Flavor is much better than the standard ones. Not as good as my Kayfuns or Goblin, but good enough to be my first choice stealth vape. I find the .5 CLRs run too hot to wick my high VG juices without dry hits. The 1.0 ones are fine, but you have be sure to give them enough airflow. I'm gonna rebuild one to about .8 tonight and hope it's my sweet spot.

How about the liquid control ring, how far would it be possible to cover the liquid intake?

The ring comes all the way off 'up' so it should be able to completely cover the wick.

Fasttech is the only place I know with o-rings, maybe try a 16mm or maybe a slightly bigger one?

I guess I'm a bit worried of taking it off and measuring it in fear of stretching more or breaking. But most hardware stores carry variety packs of orings and also Amazon. So I should just pick up a pack, I'm sure I'll find one that fits.

Hey guys, just want to report back. I decided to give the CLR coils another go. I reasoned that maybe I didn't prime the wick well enough last time, and that turned out to be the case. This time, I first unscrewed the ring to expose the new wick, applied juice directly until the wick was visibly saturated, then put the whole thing together. It's vaping wonderfully now. As for leaking, none yet, but well we'll see.

I'm waiting for the 16mm one but really don't trust the design of these clr heads to ever give a consistent vape and considering that I am buying it to use it when I am outside the house, I don't want to be bothered by that. I am thinking it might work better just rebuilding the replaceable head with a horizontal coil and maybe the insulator from the clr. Has anyone tried this?

Been using my correctly-primed CLR coil, and I've gotta say it chucks vaper like a beast!!! Of course, it also goes through juice pretty well, too. The only problem I am now encountering is since the tank does not have a condensation deck below the drip tip, the condensed liquid tends to sort of float around in there and build up in the drip tip, until it splats into my mouth. That was quite a surprise, and it didn't take long for the build up to occur. I am still trying new things with this tank, but I've gotta say it's more fussy that my Subtank Nano.

Ok, sounds fun :). However, this might change with another drip tip? maybe one with a shorter base. How about heat, does the atty get hot when light chain vaped? I'm asking because I'll pick some drip tips for it at the same time and I'm wondering whether I should get one or two with derlin/plastic base also or just stick with SS

Hey everyone.

I read through this whole thread after I bought an Ego One 1100 mah from the Classifieds. I bought it mostly because of the small size.
It's just the battery and I still haven't decided what topper to get for it.

I've read some positive and negative reviews on the Ego One tank so I'm undecided if I should buy one or not. I definitely like the price, $14.93 for either size at Sweet-Vapes and they have black ones that will match my battery. I also like the small size. I don't really want to pay $30 for a tank.

Is there a better match for the Ego One? I'm not really into sub ohming. I like flavor more than clouds. I think 1 ohm is as low as I want to go for now.

Also, If I buy the Ego One tank, are the CLR coils better?

Opinions are welcome.

Hy gandy, for sure the ego one tank would be the best looking tank on this battery and maybe the less costly. Judging by the reviews I would not get a standard Ego one tank tank right now if flavor is what I'm after(also consistency for that matter). And considering the clr heads are just reaching the market I would wait to see what more experienced people have to say about it. At about $15 plus another $10-12 for the clr heads you are already approaching your budget but if your common sense tells you to go for it, do it. Just like I saw mentioned in a review, it depends from what device you are coming from. Upgrading from smaller clearomizers would for sure be an improvement considering you have a head which is at least intended to allow you to rebuild it. In contrast coming from some of the better performing RTAs the vape experience will for sure decrease because they are what they are. You should watch Pbusardo's review for more insight on this.
I have no purchase experience with none but I suppose a lot of the trending sub-ohm tanks start at around $30 or higher, so maybe they are out of the discussion. Plus I agree with you and with this battery it would be wise to stay above one ohm if you have just the one. Sub-ohm tanks are made for variable wattage and box mods with big battery capacities. Anyway, you didn't say much about the way you vape, I would say the best options are RTA's and I don't know of one at 19mm diameter (maybe somebody else does) and less than 19, there aren't a lot. Not considering clones, the big buddha mini seems to be performing and looks not bad too; but maybe it's a bit over your budget, anyway you can check it out here. I would advice to also ask in that RTA section too, maybe you'll find more options that way. Also you could wait for a Spheroid or a kayfun mini in the classifieds, sometimes they go for real cheap but not less that $50 I think. And you have the older china tanks from before the sub-ohm craze such as nautilus mini or others from kanger. You also have RDAs as a last resort, which unless the world of vaping changes radically I see no way for drippers to abandon us. Hope some of this helps.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm using the iStick 20w with Nautilus minis and GS Airs right now. That's my out and about setup. I'm mostly satisfied with the flavor and vapor from those. I own 5 iSticks and 2 each of the above toppers. At home I use a IGO S mini dripper with a homemade 5v passthrough. The flavor with that setup is great.

I have seen PBusardo's review of the Ego One and it sounds like he isn't thrilled with the tank.

I might just pick up an Ego One tank for now and keep my eyes peeled for something better. I think I'll get some CLR coils also since they are easier to rebuild.

This was an impulse buy, I only paid $20 for it, so it's not a big deal if I decide that I don't like it. If nothing else, it'll be a backup for my backups.

I've got a couple of ego one tanks. They're fine for what they are and have good airflow. Flavor isn't bad at all nothing to complain about. I haven't had a dry hit yet at 25w on a VS 30w. I should have some clr heads soon can't wait to try them. they're probably better suited to my max vg juice anyway. I had to use the pmma driptip cause chain vaping causes alot of heat in a short time. Personally I could care less what youtube reviewers have to say. They only use new toys for a short time before their on to the next big thing. I halfway listen about new mods because I want to know if they can regulate power well and are capable of the advertised specs. I will however take advice to heart from my atf B&M the guys use what they sell and thoroughly test new toys when they come in and not for just a week or two. The small ego one tank on my vapor shark has been my stealth set up for out and about. only the drip tip is above my closed hand and never got a second look.

I ordered the small Ego One tank and a 5 pack of CLR 1 ohm coils from Sweet-Vapes. I got a shipped email this morning but my order doesn't show up in USPS tracking yet. Sweet-Vapes is in WI, and so am I, so they should be here in a few days.

I'll post my opinion next week.

Is there a reason the GS Air-M wouldn't work? I was thinking of getting a ONE battery just for those. I'm not into sub-ohming and that seemed economical.
