What is a bit interesting about the prices on these rba's... I can remember not long ago people were selling these things for over $100 - $120. And now we are getting basically the same replaceable coil system for $12.50 +shipping. Im sure there are differences in bases, but geeezzz.

It's been over 24 hours now, and this thing is working great. It no longer crackles and pops, just a nice smooth burn and tons of vapor. Very consistent vape all day long. Very nice!

Wow. What rba's ??? Did you buy them? This is just the head!!!

The only thing stopping from ordering one right now is... the lack of the 510 thingy to do ohm checks. :(

I just check with a multimeter. Plus, 8 wraps around the included little screw driver seems to get me to 1.9 - 2.2 ohm on a 30awg wire. With variable wattage, I'm thinking higher ohm is the way to go.

Btw thanks for the RBA Vicky. It's not the base its the newer style eGrip. I think the atty opening is milled a bit differently on these. The atty cover on my older style eGrip also wouldn't screw in all the way on the newer one- either that or I just have a newer one that's not milled correctly

Older vs newer. Older has numbers on the dial- the newer has progressively larger dots and no numbers.

Ok I've found if I keep twisting I get past a hard turn and then it does tighten down all the way- took a toke- nice!! Then no more toke- I believe it turned the eGrip off. I used an ohm meter and no shorting on the RBA base so I'm stumped. Unscrewed it, put regular atty in it- works fine. Put RBA back in, one toke and it's dead again. Help!!

Yes I did everything you could imagine to get it to work. Finally tonight I had success!! What I had not done is turn the eGrip off to change out head. 5 clicks- turn the mod off- then change the head, then 5 clicks and turn the mod on. It's worked flawlessly now! So if anyone else has issues like I did, turn the mod off first. Wow, what a hit this RBA gives!!! I need to lower my Nic on this thing now!!

I have had mixed feeling about the egrip so far. First off, I love the size and weight of the thing. I also like the flavor and vapor when it is working well. The problems I've had so far are that the coils go bad after just 2-3 days, I get really dry hits about a third of the time, and on the first egrip I had the usb slot broke on the egrip making it useless until I bought another one. But, with all that said, the egrip is still my main go-to vape.

Gotta ask:

What do you mean by "go bad"? Are you popping the coil or just aren't happy with what they are putting out?

What's the PG/VG ratio of the liquids you are running?

Have you experimented with opening the air flow up or removing the air flow screw altogether?

By go bad, I mean the flavor, vapor and throat hit get to the point where I can't taste or feel them anymore. I have turned the wattage up to see if that would help, but it did not.

I have tried 50/50, 65/35 and 80/20 PG/VG inside the tank and get the same result out of all of them.

On my first egrip I removed the screw all the way, but on this one I have just opened the airflow as far as I can without removing the screw.

Admittedly I am not the most knowledgeable vaper around so any suggestions would be great. Flavor is the most important part of the experience for me.

Welp. Just ordered a woodgrain eGrip body and RBA base kit from Cignot. 62.50 with free shipping, not too bad! I like that they have the option to get the eGrip with RBA as a kit a little cheaper without the drip tip and micro USB, which god knows I have plenty of lying around the house already. Also, it apparently comes with the 510 adapter thing to check ohms, which is just nifty.

Can't wait to play with it!

Hello Thor,

Firstly, the one that had the bad port should have been exchanged for you if they are a Joyetech dealer!

If you dry hit I would add a drop or two of distilled water to the tank to make the liquid flow faster... for the dullness of taste, well, I would say get the RBA. It really changes things.

I am still enamored with mine although now I am using it in concert with an eGo One. I have to test that one out... so far so good and another great form factor!

I'm a little slow sometimes…just realized that a)this post is part of a forum section dedicated to Cignot and b)that is your company!

Yeah, I ordered it, ran straight to this forum to brag about it, and in the time it took me to write a post the darn thing was already marked as shipped! Pretty amazing. Thanks!
