I've been wanting to recoil one of these attys but having a hard time getting the ceramic piece out. I think if we could replace the wick inside the coil with mesh it would be about as close to perfect as these could get.
I have done it, but eventually the mesh began to look burned and let a brown color. But if you want to change it;

Put a vegetable oil or vg to strategic places so that ceramic piece slide better, then just tap it down. Then you can carefully slightly raise the coil with a needle and change the wick which is inside the coil.

The problem when recoil this is: if you don't solder electric wires to ends of the kanthal or nichrome (which is very difficult) , the coil will lose some power because all the resistance is not then in the coil. But maybe there will be enough.

I posted this in the noob forum and they directed me here.

I love my emini, but I started having some leakage/seepage issues after the first couple of days. Today, I just received a follow up order with some new Ovale emini tanks. Right away I noticed that the new tanks seem to fit much more snugly than the original tanks. Another difference is that the new tanks don't have a removable cap with clips on the sides. The three original tanks from the kit do have a removable cap.

Here is a pic . . . eminitank_zpsdd36d664.jpg

Did they redesign these tanks at some point? The new ones seem vastly superior to the kit tanks. No leaks since swithching to the new tanks.

Thanks

All of mine have the cap, the one on the right looks the same without the cap?

The ones that were in my kit and from Litecig looks like the one on the left. I only had one leak so I tossed it. The rest are fine so far.

Hmm. All of my 17 cartridges have the removable cap. I've never seen the style on the right.

On a side note... I finally have mastered the art of the waterfall drip refill method. (Or whatever we're calling it)

I had previously tried to do it with regular bottles with standard tips. For the last week or so, I've been carrying around a little 3ml bottle with a slightly smaller tip. It was actually a sample bottle from Copper Creek. The smaller tip is a little more precise, and works really well for this. I'm not going to say I never accidentally get a drop stuck in the top, it does happen at times. But in a full day of refilling and refilling and refilling this might happen once. And it's usually because I'm not paying enough attention. I haven't used a needle tip since I started using my 3ml bottle.

No leaks w/out the drop-flange caps? SURPRISING. B'coz, once I forgot to place the cap in one of my tank-cartridges and it dripped all over the place. That 'cap' seem to have a 'purpose' at the tank design. Mainly, it snugly takes-in the spike of the atomizer. If it was just an open 'hole' -- there'd be gaps between the spike and the walls of the tank. And kaput!

The overall length is the same and there is still a hole in the top. I may have to get out my reloading calipers and see if dimensions are identical.

I have the old style tanks. The ecab tank is the same as the new design. There are no tabs. The tank cover is really not meant to be removed. Most people figure out a way to refill without removing the cover. Tanks are disposable and cheap, think I have 20 in rotation with my eroll. I sure the new style will fit better and have fewer issues going forward. If nothing else airflow will be improved

Doing the same thing...takes a somewhat steady hand, but works great once you get the hang of it!

is it typical for the juice to taste like crap in a brand new eroll? does the atomizer need breaking in ??

Are you using a thick juice?

I use thicker juice with my eRoll, usually 100% VG, so it takes a bit to wick well. With a new atty, if I don't want to wait to use it, I sometimes pull it apart and add a little drop of juice straight onto the coil then reassemble and vape. (You could just prime it via the wick, but I think it works better this way. Just my opinion.)

Otherwise, I load it all up and give it a little while, usually 20 mins or so. I do notice the atty seems to perform a little better after it's broken in, like a day or so, but it doesn't seem to taste nasty or anything. (to me)

Sometimes, if a hit tastes a little dry, I tap the side battery hole with my finger for a split-second while drawing on the eRoll. I think this helps to suck the juice into the atty just a bit. Don't overdo it, though, you don't want to flood it.

I haven't heard anyone else say they do this, so I have no idea if this is ok or if I may potentially be damaging anything. I just know it works for me.

I'm using 50/50 juices i have both carts filled with two really different juices and i can barely taste the difference in taste. I tried priming the attys with a drip or two....weird

and is the battery light supposed to be blue when it's charging? (the light on the side of where the battery goes) I'd assume it would be red and then turn to blue when charged

The battery light is blue while it's charging the actual roll, then turns off when it's ready. The PPC has a red light and when it's done it turns green. :)

Make sure the air bubbles are at the mouth end of the tank. I assume you are get a burnt taste. The tapping helps sound like the liquid is not wicking correctly because its to thick. You can try shaking , or take the cone off with the atty and tank connected and suck a couple of times with no battery attached....you could also have some preprimed attys. I have heard others complain about how bad they take at first.
