Yeah, just pulled out atty #3 of 5 and everything seems OK at the moment. Oh well, not a big deal for how little they cost. Just hope that's all it is. Thanks again!

Are you using the real attys or the knockoffs? I think the real ones come in the black blister packs with clear covering and the knockoffs come in a tube or loose. Also are they SR or LR?

You people that are going through attys- truthfully, none of mine since December when I ordered my first kit have died. I have re-wicked them however with SS mesh which makes a huge difference.

I'm going through atties a lot not because they're dying, but because they just stop tasting good after a few days. Now, I think I'm just more particular than most or something.. because I also don't like the taste that the SS wicks give either. I tend to vape very subtle flavors, so that probably has something to do with it. I can't stand anything even remotely sweet.

In a nutshell, I just like the taste of a fresh atty and they're cheap enough -- to me -- to change them frequently. I quit smoking for health reasons rather than financial reasons, so as far as I'm concerned, if I stay under $150/month I'm fine tossing stuff to make the experience what I want it to be.

If it makes you all feel better, I'm not actually throwing them in the garbage. I toss them in a box and eventually I'll probably soak them in vodka or something. But I won't spend any amount of time beyond that trying to make one taste good again.

Wow? What is this atty business? Check your juice. Unless you are smoking some dank extracts that gunk up your atty quickly, I don't share similar results.... stock eJoye no mod. Your results are not matching my own.

Like I said, I think some people are either more picky about taste or maybe we're just vaping more subtle flavors. But I assure you, the liquid I'm vaping (Wordup and Intellicig, predominately -- not cheap stuff) isn't just gunking it up.

Again, the atties aren't 'garbage' after a few days. I just prefer a fresh one at that point. Call me a hedonist if you must, but I'm fine tossing components at a few bucks a pop to get a better flavor, hit, etc.

As for my issue today, both attys were not firing correctly out of the box and LCUSA only offers 24 hour return. It's not their fualt. They don't make them. They sell them. My choice of liquids are just fine. I use HALO, Vapor Station and Dekang as do a zillion other people. Some of us do not care about $20 for 5 attys and don't really want to clean them or take time. Who cares really?

I would have made both of you cookies too :p

I read most of this thread before I decided to go with the eRoll. Ordered it from DesertVapes.com on Friday, got it in the mail today (Monday.) Now just waiting for my liquid! (I went with Mt Baker, since they have 70 VG, 30 DW - even tho yes, I know the flavors have PG)

I currently have a cheapie Mistic. I was surprised at how much lighter and smaller the eRoll was than it! I will admit I'm scared of getting liquid on the battery, and I don't really understand where to drip for testing flavors. Heck, I don't understand any of it yet. But now that I own it, I will re-read this thread!

Hope to do more DIY soon (budget is a huge issue), but I'm really quite a klutz.

I think I'd contact the vendor too. They shouldn't have that high of a fail rate. I've only changed them when I changed flavors, kind of keep them dedicated. I mostly vape Torque and the atty for it has been going for over a month. The only trouble I've had was with a new one I vaped too soon, I blew the primer out and then tried to vape it too soon. Didn't give the juice enough time to wick so I burnt it. Pulled the silica and replaced with mesh. It's done fine since.

Pop the tank off and drop it down the cone as close to the spike on the atomizer as you can. That's it.

I'm not trying to scare anyone with my comments. I just see the device as more disposable than most do, I guess. I mean, a complete unit is about $15 at retail prices. Once/week, that's $60/month.

You won't burn through every component though that often, even if you're as picky as I am. I am at about $30/month in parts myself.. mostly because I'm picky about the flavor, hit, draw, etc. If you can or need to sacrifice on any one of those attributes, you can probably make these go for much longer for much less.

Ah send them to me already! I will rewick some for you and send them back. I cant taste the SS in mine at all, i even use a type A atty in my ego c now because i get good consistent vapor and flavor.

I have atties over 2 months old, and id rather one of them than a nylon out of the blister pack

Also i agree on your other post. None of the stuff for these is meant to last a long time, its meant to be a cheap PCC kit with interchangeable parts, thats how they make money
