Assuming your body metabolizes the nicotine from vaping the same as burning tobacco, it'd be 1.2mg per cigarette. So, that should mean that 1ml of 24mg liquid = 1 pack of cigarettes. In my experience though, it doesn't. I had to go to 48mg to get myself off of cigarettes entirely. I then switched to 36mg for most usage and still do 48mg in the morning.

Nicotine in cigarettes is processed to help your body metabolize it quickly and efficiently. I don't think they're doing the same thing here with the eliquids -- with the possible exception of the NJOY King. That actually hits as quickly as a cigarette for me, but it's also high nicotine (45mg).

Basically, I'm of the mind that you should up the nicotine until it makes you prefer the ecig over the traditional cigarette. You can always adjust your dosage later, after you've kicked the psychological aspects of a burning cigarette. But tricking your mind into prefering vaping over burning tobacco is a huge thing. Going above your normal nicotine dosage helps that take place faster.

I've gone through 2ml of 48mg liquid easily in a day on certain days, and the worst I've felt for it is a little icky. TennDave vapes the equivelant of 1.5 cartons of cigarettes per day, so I think that says something about its bio-availability, considering he's not dead lol.

WOW Haha! I guess if he can vape 1.5 cartons a day I can try 36mg! I'll call Mt Baker first thing & see if I can change it before I place yet another order!

BTW, since no one has mentioned it.. unless you're 20 years old with perfect vision, don't buy the damned black/smokey tanks. You can't see how full they are unless they're perfectly backlit lol.

OMG Yes!!! I had to fill them by a lightbulb! I ordered 10 more all CLEAR! I'm going to just carry both pcc's - I have a black & a white so that will be how I tell them apart. I thought different tank colors was a great idea until I tried filling them:) I'll just keep them for emergency (AKA I forget to order) but I would think I'm set for a bit..

Thanks for that...how many packs a day did you used to smoke?

I use different colored batteries for that. The clear tanks look fine on all of the colors IMHO.

Wow, so many posts I want to reply to--where to start, where to start?

First, I've only seen the UCan in silver, never in any other color. And I have several and have been lucky enough not to have any leaking issues.

Second, congratulations Motek and mommysnofun!! I'm glad you are enjoying your eRolls. The first vape of the morning with my coffee was the hardest one for me. For me personally, it wasn't about needing higher nic, but finding the right flavor that would eliminate that nagging unsatisfied feeling that I only had at that time. The rest of the day, I was fine. Once I found the right flavor, the last lingering slight craving for a real cig went completely away. The nice thing about buying higher nic strength is you can always cut it with some 0 nic by mixing them in an empty bottle or your UCan, but if you only buy low nic, you can't make it stronger, at least not easily.

I felt that the flavor of the juice was a tiny bit muted with the eRoll, but someone on here (sorry, can't remember who it was) said to pull the tank up slightly and OMG what a difference that made for me. I always push them on hard because I worry about leaking and then I give them a spin to make sure the atty is completely through the hole, but not pushing it down quite as hard made the juice feed the atty better and the flavor is much better for me. Thank you to whoever suggested that. Dawnbella, the flavor is much better than with the 510-T or the eGo C tanks, at least for me.

Motek, I wouldn't worry too much about rinsing the needle tip before using it on another juice, especially if they are similar juices (like both fruits or both bakery). The little bit that might mix in probably won't make a big difference in taste.

My advice to both Motek and mommysnofun is to not put pressure on yourself. Don't try to schedule your quit. Just enjoy vaping and have a real cig when you need to and before you know it, if you are like most of the members on here, you will have both your cigs and your eRoll sitting next to you and decide you would rather vape than smoke. And for most people, it doesn't take long before the couple of cigs you have taste awful compared to the juice.

Good luck to both of you!

1 pack when not drinking, 1.5 packs (roughly) when I was.

Lightweight compared to me...LOL! weirdly people never think I smoke, I hope to make that true very, very soon...someone on this thread said something to the affect, it's not how many you've smoked...it's how many you haven't...I'm hanging on to that with all I have right now...maybe I'll order the 48 mg for the mornings only...a good suggestion...

I got a sampling of Red pack Lt, Dunhill, Pall Mall, lucky strike & virgina all 80 VG / 20 PG 36 mg. I re-ordered Virginia, because it wasn't quite as sweet as the others. to me, it tastes the most like an analog. The red Lt tasted a little plasticy & the lucky strike was too strong, not in a good way. I like the Dunhill as well, it's a tiny bit sweeter than Virginia. :) Got them all at wordup.

Your vaping 36 mg,make sure you check your blood pressure, thats a lot of nicotine, one regular has 1.2 mg in it.Vaping 36mg is like smoking 3 cigarettes at one time.

It wasn't me, but it does work. I push it on hard when I'm not using it, and I now subconsciously tug on the tank before I start :)

Amazing post...thank you so very much. The pressure of seeing people with years without vaping, down to the days, hours, minutes (LOL) is hard when you're no where close to that!! So, you've really helped me take some of the burden off of feeling like a failure! I appreciate your kindness so much. And I really do need the support!! This is the most hopeful I have been about being smoke free in years!!

It worked for me. I actually used the 48mg liquid exclusively for 3 weeks -- 1 to 3 tank fulls per day. It gave me the best 'cigarette experience'; that is, I picked it up when I'd normally pick up and light a real cigarette.

I really think people should up the nicotine until they feel they don't need a cigarette anymore. It is the only thing that worked for me and I've tried hard for a long time to quit, like I'm sure a lot of you have. A little extra nicotine temporarily won't kill you, but smoking will.

The median lethal dose (LD50) for nicotine is 60mg. The half-life of nicotine is around 2 hours. To kill yourself with nicotine via vaping -- assuming it is metabolized the same way as it is through burning tobacco -- you'd have to go through (at least) 1ml of 30mg liquid in one hour, which is a bit over 2 tankfulls in the eRoll.

Considering that TennDave obviously ingests a lot more than that, I suspect that you're not getting every last bit of nicotine from the liquid when you vape.

I'm not quite sure, but I think maybe me and TennDave might be vaping about the same amount or there about...I guess I should be dead too..like I said, I normally smoke about 2 to 2.5 packs a day... :(

It isn't right. I smoked for 16 years -- I know when my body wants nicotine. 2-3 tanks of 36mg liquid per day works for me like cigarettes worked for me. 2 tanks of 48mg works as well.

If you're genuinely curious, just check your blood pressure right after you take 10 puffs or so over a 5 minute period.

Unless you're going through 8+ tanks of 36mg per day, no, you're not doing what he's doing lol.

Honestly, I think that if I had been trying to quit, I wouldn't have been as successful. I just bought an e-cig to use when I couldn't have a real cig. After thirty years of smoking a pack to a pack and a half a day with only one temporary quit on Chantix, I didn't think I would ever be able to stop. But there were times when I couldn't have a smoke or I would be around people I didn't want to smell smoke on me, so I thought an e-cig would be helpful in those situations. I tried it out at home just to make sure it didn't have a telltale odor and to make sure it didn't make me feel sick. And somehow, I just kept picking it up instead of lighting up. I bought a non-disposable and some juice and by the second day, I realized I had only smoked two cigs without even thinking about it. I gave myself permission to have a cig if I wanted one (still keep the pack handy eight months later but haven't had one yet). If I had thrown them out and told myself I couldn't have one, I would have gone crazy wanting one, but since I knew I could have one if I wanted it, I reached for my PV instead.

You mentioned that it seems so far away until you will be able to say you've been smokefree for two years or three years or whatever--I can say that when I quit before, every day seemed like an eternity of trying to keep myself busy so I wouldn't think about smoking. With vaping, the time has flown by and now instead of trying not to smoke, I'm trying new flavors and new toys.

You'll see, the time will fly by, especially with all the nice people on ECF to keep you company and give you support. :)

with the eroll, yes I'm right there. I ordered 2 packs of 5 tanks and fill them all up in the morning...so am I vaping even more than he is?!!!

Dunno, but probably close. I'd say that's a bit much, but without measuring the levels in your blood, it's really hard to say. Honestly, ask your doctor. If it's a concern, he/she will likely check. It's a simple test and frankly, I'd like to know the result if you do it :)

As for flavors (I know you asked someone else, but..).. I personally quit with Intellicig's ECOpure at 45mg. But I now greatly prefer Wordup's 'Basically Tobacco' at 36mg. I could probably do 48mg with it though to be honest, but I'm trying to cut myself back a bit.
