I have a problem with my evic. I am not able to open it by pressing the button; it also does not operate the atomizer.
when connected to pc or charger the screen comes to life after disconnecting the screen goes again.

MVR program can connect to the evic and read data on it.

I also tried the reset firmware...

I guess the evic had some battery issue. Is there any way to open the controlle head? or what may I do?:(

Have you tried pressing it six times like the directions told you? From what I'm reading you've only tried pressing it once.

That's normal. When plugged into a PC or wall, it'll just show "charing" and the percentage it's at. After disconnecting, it will turn off. Refer to what I said above.

From what I know, there's no way to open the control head (in a safe way without harming the device, anyway). Try what I've recommended, and if all else fails, I'd suggest returning your device. Either that, or you can just buy a new control head altogether.

What you do is contact your Vendor and politely explain the problem. If they do not help contact Joyetech with the same information.
eVic Has a warranty.
Some Vendors actually do as they should and exchange the unit. JoyeTech has also intervened on other behalf.

I have been waiting on a few volunteers to give up a DOA or other non-functioning Head to try and solve the issues, but the going is slow.

I bought it from a reseller on a forum and dont have an invoice... joyetech asks me for it :(

I just joined this forum to find out the same thing you are asking. I went through 2 JoyETech E-Vics. This is a great unit, problem is it doesn't last long, at least for me both units had issues with the control head. The first one I am not entirely sure what the problem was, however on the 2nd head the problem was the dome that is right about the screen. That part of the evic is made of two parts, which was news to me until today. The dome is actually the female piece, and the male piece is the part that is glued to the black plastic where the screen is.

The problem is the glue, it sux, no other way to put it. The unit will turn when you are screwing the cartomizer off the top of the unit. The unit will also come undone if you happen to put the evic in your pocket. I noticed the turning one night while I was removing the cartomizer to fill it. The top of the unit, the male and female literally came off the black plastic. I could see the wires underneath. I went ahead and used a special glue that I use for my business that is designed to glue aluminum to aluminum and aluminum to plastic, etc. Once glued, problem solved. I am not sure if this was the issue with my first eVic, however it was the issue with the 2nd one.

Today the actuation switch quit. Didn't matter how many times i pressed it, it just stopped working. I am not going to buy another control head to replace, too costly, and after 2 strikes, no more for me. I went to the local vape store and purchased a telescopic unit made by a company Smok. I purchased this particular unit because I wanted to use the batteries I have here for the eVic, and I also did not want the frills that the eVic provides. I use the unit to save $$$ on cigars, I never inhaled cigars, and the cigar flavors that are available are excellent, so these days I only smoke a real cigar when I go to the local cigar bar/watering hole, LOL. Needless to say I have saved big bucks with vaping. I use the zero nicotine, as I never inhaled cigars only puffed on them for the flavor. My wife is also elated with the vape choice.

So far after a few hours the Smok Telescopic works fine. You can't adjust the voltage, but it has a nice output. I am using the Kanger MT3 Tubes, which have worked best for me. I purchase the Churchill liquid from Liberty Flight, that is an awesome cigar flavor and it does the trick for me.

I hope you find this helpful. You may want to check your control head and see if that is the issue. I am sure that problems will arise if the wires under there pull and come disconnected while you are replacing the cartomizer. Definitely something to look at. Hope this helps.

the problem I had with my evi is the control head where the 510 connection snapped off the controller head. The connect is pretty much pressed into the plastic that makes up the main body of the controll head. The first time this happed it stretched out the plastic so I was able to pull off the connectiong easily after that. Fast foward and I dropped my evic and I broke the 2 wires that soldered from the main board to the 510 connection. Took me 5 minutes to repair with a soldering iron and I super glued it back together and no problems since.

I do get this problem after i get to about 40% battery and under. The screen would turn off if I let it sit and not vape it for half an hour. I am not putting it to sleep. When I take a vape the battery will suddenly read 3% and says the power is low but it keep climbing up 1% then drop back down to 3%. I have to turn the evic off and back on for a correct battery %.

Thats was my 2 main issues with my evic to date. My total puff counter reads 96742.

Silly me, I would have glued it back together so it didn't keep coming apart.
Seriously - There is an upgraded head that seems to have solved issues.

Also, quite often removing the battery for an hour or so allows the eVic to reset. Can't hurt to give it a try.

As to buying off a forum - that is between OP and seller, not Joyetech. I got mine off a coop and expected no warranty, but worth the price risk. 5 months daily use, no issue.(2 evics)

Figured I'd chime in, any one have issues with the 510 threading ? had mine less than a month and the threads are shot and no I didn't drop or screw the atty down with a wrench:). Sent it back today. Just seems that its built cheap, have never had any problems with any of my ego's.

I had my kanger get stuck on there pretty good the other day. I ended up grabbing the knurled bottom of the kanger (after taking the tank part off) with vice grips and unscrewing it with that. This taught me 2 things:

1) Don't come even close to tightening the tanks on, just barely finger snug
2) The glue on my unit is very strong, others have had issues. Mine stood up to me torquing it with vice grips so I'm not too worried about it coming apart on me.

I've vaped mine down to around 30% with no odd issues, running firmware 1.2 right now.

I had the issue of the control head separating.....which was probably due to it being loosened some weeks earlier after a heavy fall from a bar table.

The wires broke so i bought a soldering iron and repaired it in 5 minutes. The head has not come apart again (yet), after some 12 days later. If it does i will glue the thing together.

My e-vic (usually) cuts out with the battery on around 6%...sometimes i can restart it and vape onto until the battery reached 1% or even 0%, other times not.
