Hello All, I just got mine yesterday and I thought I would love it at first but I quickly ended up having wicking problems, burnt coil on the .25. I noticed it when I charged it all the way seems the entire 50 watts was too much or maybe it is just my juice or vaping style because no one else seems to be having that problem. I tried then putting a high pg juice in it but still no better, but the coil may have been toast after that. I am putting a new coils in it now and letting it soak for an hour before I vape it. If anyone else has had wicking problems or burning problems I would love to hear about it. Love to all...Kitten

Very well designed mod, especially the tank system. I tried the 0.6Ω but got dry hits for some reason. The 0.25Ω coils work very well for me. The only issue I have is that when fully charged, I find it too strong. Once the battery gets down to 3 lights it's perfect for me. Actually, using an unregulated mod seems like a giant step backwards. If they could somehow regulate the voltage down to say 3.6v and keep it there this would be perfect IMO. Gonna try another 0.6Ω coil to see if it was just a bad coil.
I agree, that is it, when it is a full charge it is too strong. Maybe max 40Watts would have been better for the coils even the .25's seem like a 50Watt charge is too high. I bought the Wismec Motiv and had the same problem on both of the coils, the battery was too strong and it burnt the coils. Wondering why some people don't think so though, it is burning my coils, maybe it is my vaping style, maybe I am not pulling enough juice into the coil system. Whatever it is I wish I could figure it out so I could use these systems comfortably, I like the idea of them. I, in fact, got my son to order one based on my initial experience with it on 3 charge dots. Hope it is good for him. Love to you...Love to all...Kitten

Havent heard a bad word said about the Breeze, maybe worth a go.

It's actually pretty nice. I'd suggest anyone watch the Pbusardo review on it first though, as it does have some quirks. Also. my one main gripe is the terrible battery life. It's literally like 20-30 puffs before you have to recharge, so I think that battery extender accessory thing is pretty much mandatory for going out. If they just made a 1.8 coil version, this thing would be awesome. But really nice for a quick run to the grocery store etc.

I hear theres a higher ohm version on the way.

I certainly hope so, and not just for the Breeze. This sub ohm craze is getting out of hand, and there are many of us who want a higher resistance coil in order to use our favorite e-liquids at the strengths we're used to using. Not to mention, having something in the 1.8 - 2.0 ohm range would go a long way to increasing the battery life on these pod mods.

I posted that two days ago and I wanted to update for anyone else having problems with the Penguin burning coils on a full charge... I fortunately was able to acquire a package of. 25 coils so I put in another coil and had my Penguin only charged to three dots, I saturated the new coil then filled the tank and let the whole thing sit for an hour. I proceeded to vape it starting at half charge till dead, then charged it half way and again vaped till it was dead then charged all the way and now it is Vaping great on a full charge...the coil is fully seasoned.. Seems like a lot to do but really wasn't bad. Even able to chain vape on a full charge. I hope this helps anyone having problems like mine. Love to all.. Kim

In the beginning, I had a lot of problems with burning and dry hits. All those problems went away when I started priming the coil effectively. What I do is place a new coil on a napkin, or whatever, and then add juice to the top hole that will be inside the tank. When the wick absorbs the juice, I add some more. I keep adding juice until the wick no longer absorbs any. I've even had some juice dribble out of the side holes, which is fine, no worries. I then fill the tank and leave some air in the tank, insert the coil firmly, and vape away without incident. I've not had a single problem since doing things this way.

But the flavor is still bland when compared with, say, a Nautilus tank.

It appears that these coils need a break in period, but with an unregulated mod this becomes difficult. Sounds like you found a solution, thanks for the tip.

Hey Cool, I won one off of Heavens Gifts, wifey just loves it with the 0.25 DL coils, the MTL's are way too tight for her or me. I was using it right after we got it one evening very late (watching tv and vaping in bed) I feel asleep and in the morning the poor penguin was under me. It was not harmed in any way and better yet didn't leak at all. Sadly right now it's been sidelined because "My Vapor Store" screwed up and sent the MTL coils by mistake and won't take care of the mistake without me paying to send them back. Anyway I/we love it.
Holy cow, I really lost track of this thread! That's awesome you guys are loving the Penguin. I still love mine, too! I just ordered another cartridge for it so I have a spare. I burned out another coil because I had the poor thing sandwiched between a bunch of stuff I was carrying and it smelled just awful. The cartridge is okay but it did warp a little so I want to make sure I have a backup. Also I want to make sure I don't ever do that again, lol! :D

I'm really tempted to get this, but the dry hits do sound like an issue. I saw one youtuber say that you need to take long hits to keep the coil saturated, and they said that shorter hits is what was causing it at first for him. Just something to try.

Joyetech has such a sorted history with their coils....ack, I'm on the fence. Can anyone compare the flavor of the .6 coil to a similar tank/coil experience? I remember everyone liking the Cubis when it first came out, but I couldn't even vape it. I think I've turned into a bit of a flavor snob, despite my best efforts :/
I haven't had a dry hit since my first tank load on my first coil. I keep my ratio to at least 70/30 VG/PG and its been awesome since! I used that .6 ohm coil forever (like a month or more!) and never had a problem with it, but BOY was it ready to retire when I finally got my replacement .25s! :D I think the flavor is comparable to any of the quality ceramic coils out there. It's truly amazing.

Will citrus flavors crack the plastic cartridge?
I haven't heard of one of them cracking from citrus or any of the other "tank cracker" juices out there. I actually haven't heard of a problem with that in quite a while! Maybe they finally figured out the right material to prevent that.

Has anybody else run into burnt coils with these? I've googled the issue and nobody is talking about it. I received this on Friday and I have been getting the worst burnt taste. Reminds me of the pre-temp control days. Its like running an old mech mod with an RDA that has a hot coil lead. I look down into the coil here and all i could see was black. The top-side where the juice feeds is white, but the bottom looked bad. I'm about ready to toss this is the garbage already.
The only time I am hearing about burnt coils is from the one that comes with the kit, for some reason. So weird. I have had no problems at all with my replacement coils. Well, coil. I bought 10 but have only used 1 of them. They last forever!

Hi! Im thinking about getting one of these! However i read somewhere its an unregulated device! Being an unregulated device is it still safe to use? Or as safe as a regulated one? Many thanks for your help
It's set up to work with the 2 coil options, so kind of unregulated but not in the traditional sense. I find that the vape I get from it is exactly perfect for me. Not too hot, not too cool.

I found that once I burnt my first coil it was toast. There was no coming back from it, and believe me I tried! :)
