I have been told by many people that rdas give way more flavor. However I get more flavor from my horizon arctic tank at 50w with .5 ohms then with a dual build at 65.5 w at .4ohms. Any advice.

1) RDA plays a big part. Smaller Chamber tighter airflow RDA (example Quasar V1) has more reflective heat and less air to vapor ratio (more flavored vapor compared to fresh air = more flavor) enhance flavor compared to a super clouding RDA (larger and wider chamber with massive flavor) has more air to flavored vapor ratio clouding increases and flavor drops.
2) Type of build. Myself I'm a flavor chaser so generally build between a 0.5 to 0.75 ohm build using 26awg standard dual coils or 28awg parallel or twisted builds (more wick to wire surface contact, valleys inbetween each wire wrap are not as deep compared to 24awg and larger wire) and generally a 2.5mm inner diameter on the coils with lower watts about 45watts and below, and decrease how hard you pull on the RDA, see #3 below, practice pulling slower and longer, the coils are not getting as hot as a lower ohm build at super high watts so you can relax and enjoy the vape, standard Claptons using 26 or 28awg core wire with 30 to 36awg outer wrapping wire can increase the liquid to hot wire surface contact = more vapor coming off the coils.
3) Airflow - try adjusting your airflow tighter to match you Horizon Tech tank or even tighter, less airflow allows vaporized liquid to accumulate and saturate more and being flushed out the mouth piece longer, also to help slow the airflow further use a smaller bore drip tip, lets vapor rise and accumulate at the top of the top cap before votexing up the drip tip.

I have the original mouth piece with it that let's u regulate air flow and knowing led air means more flavor and still not as much flavor as my tank. Would there be more flavor with more wraps of the coil. Right now I do 5 wraps around 30 bit (it's from a universal tool kit for rdas) with a dual coil build.

@Joeta99 Hello and welcome to the forums!!!! I personally use twisted 26 guage dual coil @ .3 ohms or twisted 26 guage single coil @ .6 ohms for superior flavor. Taste in general is subjective so your mileage may vary. Hope this helps. Also, flavor would depend on the airflow actually in my expirience. A couple I know for sure is Blueberry which requires a tighter draw and Bavarian Cream which tastes better with a lot of airflow. Hope this helps.

Right now I wrap my coil five times, I forget the gauge I think it's 30. I run a dual coil witch come out to about .5ohms. If I where to increase the wraps like go from 5 to 7 wraps would the flavor increase.

Mmmm, 30awg, flavor chaser wire =D
Parallel coils then, technically a quad coil, but wrap two wires per coil side by side, and to hit the 0.5 you are at already with dual coil it would be 10wraps each, this doubles your wire to wick contact, the coil will be longer or use a 10wrap of 30awg twisted (same concept of the parallel but it adds grooves extra juice gets into and increases surface area), just twist the wires together then wrap your coil, takes more wire but it works ;)

Yes as more surface area will allow more juice to be vaporized. That is why I recommend twisted as above mentioned by @IMFire3605 , would give more area for juice to collect.

All Depends on how the atty is built.

I loved thd Freakshow Mini and the Rogue RDAs but the Goblin Mini, and Silverplay nano RTAs had flavor just as good.

There are flavor chasing attys and cloud chasing attys

The day I started using my first rda in April of 2015 I lost interest in tanks and never used them again. After some experimenting I settled on the SV rda clone ($7 from FT). It's the only atomizer I use and is likely to be the only atomizer I ever use.

I don't want an ever more complicated vape. I'm happy with one atomizer, two different mods and one flavored DIY liquid. By the end of September I'll have a 10-20 year supply of mods, atomizers and nic ($650) to keep me vaping for 10-20 years. Every complication I add increases the cost and complexity of the stash but I want to keep things simple regardless of government interference.

You're right.

There are a few guidlines for improving flavor but too many variables and no rigid forumal that works every time. With an rda it's possible to saturate the coil area without leaking more than most any tank. It's usually more convenient to clean and rewich rda's which I find gives the better flavor and throat hit. May be you are impatient and just fiddling with it for a while will improve the flavor. May be your tank will give you better flavor than the rda so there is no solution.

I use dual flattened alien clapton kanthal coils, 5 wraps, 2.5mm, in a velocity styled deck. I run about 0.25ohm usually about 60w +/- Like was said I get good clouds but less flavor. Usually using a AV RDA and SCNDRL tube mod or a Velocity RDA and a Noisy Cricket. Now my one all day setup is a Smok TF-RTA G2 deck (have the G4 deck but is a "b" getting it wicked right) on a iStick 100w. That other is a Uwell Rafale 316L S.S. 0.2ohms production coils on a Smok Koopor Primus 300w usually at 190°C TC. There's plenty more setups I have but the thing is every mod, every tank changes my vaping experience. That's really the fun of the hobby trying new and different things, just have fun at it.

Wait like literally take two pieces twist it into one the wrap
Yes here are a few videos to look at and depending on your situation, it can be done a couple ways. Here is to straighten for people that like perfected coils start by doing this: Next you build the twisted coil like so. It can be adjusted to higher inside diameter or what not to your preference: Next, if you do not have a drill handy, it can be done like so (I have done both ways without any issues) Hope you find these very useful:
