I'm watching this with interest - I just started vaping again after a year off. I make my own juice with Perfumer's Apprentice flavors (that I buy from a lab, not from PA) and I still had all my old recipes so the recipes have not changed - but now by the end of the day I have a sore parched throat. I had to buy a new mod with one of those giant mouthpieces and a giant coil (I used to have a stockpile of the old 2 dollar plastic smok one-piece tanks with the dry-burnable coils - loved those). I have also noticed this new wide-mouth tank tip, the vape burns my lips because the juice hits it.... so, not sure if the burning is due to a change in the way PA is making their flavor or if the new coil strength and wide mouth are just too much for me. I vape at 50/50 with 2% nic and 13% flavor. I've gone down to 2% flavor but still having the same issue.

Hi,
Please post the recipe you use and the device you are using to vape.
What is the resistance of the coil you are using and how many watts do you use?
Do you use 2mg/ml (.2%) strength or 20mg/ml (2%) ?
From which "lab" did you buy the concentrates?
Where did you source the nicotine you are using? What is the mg/ml of the nicotine base?

Cheers
I

Hey - I use the same lab I always used for 5 years to buy my nic, etc (I don't want to name them because I don't think this is their fault and I have no wish to trash them on the internet). I mix to 2% nic via the "e juice me up calculator" from a 24 base nic. I used to use the smok GBC clearomizers… honestly, I think I am just not able to handle these new super-powered giant hit thingies they have out these days...

There is no reason to continue to torture yourself by using a delivery device/tank that you don't like, creates problems for your vaping preferences and doesn't provide the vape you want.
Most if not all newer cloud blower/subohm/wide mouth tank tip style 'tanks' are designed for a Dtl inhale method and use with high Vg liquids. It wouldn't be uncommon in tanks like you have for 50/50 liquids to spit back through the drip tip and seep or leak into the airflow chamber or base.

Whatever new 'mod' you bought has a 510 connection as does almost every style delivery device/tank available.

If a Mtl tank like what you were using before is what works best for you, buy a different delivery device/tank that suits your vaping preferences.

The Innokin Zenith is a dandy Mtl tank that uses simple to change push in replaceable atomizer coil heads.
The 1.6Ω head with the airflow control set however you like it, will be a very good upgrade and similar enough to what you previously used to get familiar with quickly. And you won't have to change the way you vape or the liquids you use.

By George, I think you've got it, lol ! You are correct - that direct mouth-to-lung business (which was unheard of last time I vaped, lol) seems to be the problem. I tottered up the road and bought a cheapie little plastic all in one clearomizer (that they're getting rid of cheap bc they no longer plan to carry them) and... no more burn or spit!! So now I am off to investigate the Mtl tank you recommended - thank you!!!
