So my halo triton is on the way. This is my first step into vaping. At least full time. I've used the disposables and am excited to the point its going to kill me to wait til it gets here. My next step is to figure out my juice order. I figured out the difference w pg and vg and the vgh2o mix but I guess I'd just love some input on what you guys may suggest. I was about to order a few 50/50s from mbv and start there but is that a best bet?

There's no way of knowing ahead of time which ratio of Pg/Vg that you as an individual will end up preferring.

Over the course of a year's vaping experience and sampling e-lquids from dozens of e-liquid suppliers, I will use whichever ratio a particular vendor recommends for their juice line, or order a 50/50 ratio for the ones that don't.

I know I don't particularly care for 100% Pg. 100% Vg is fine, but many of those are best used after a week's steep time. I once ordered my favarite flavor in both a 50/50 mix and 100% Vg just to see if I could tell the difference -- and I couldn't. Both tasted the same, with the all-Vg possibly having more vapor production.

I have gravitated to using only vendors that use all-natural, all-organic flavorings. 95% of my current e-liquids use them. I have found that I just prefer the taste they offer me. Your milage may vary.

I suggest trying Dripeez if you like fruit flavors.

Hello and Welcome! Baditude is absolutely spot on about vape ratio's being a personal preference. Best way to find out is just to try a few and see what you like best. I DIY and stick with a 50/50 12mg mix. If it means anything, when I smoked it was m/l 1/2 pad full flavor menthol and the 50/50 is just the right hit for me. Not sure there is a correlation there but it works for me

dlacroixss you have taken the same path as many. I too bought a POS disposable from a gas station when starting and then graduated to better toys :). At this point you are just starting down the road and as Baditude has pointed out do not overly stress about ratio. The key is to find something you like for flavor and nic level. I am not sure what you used to smoke but I know the Halo juices (Torque and Smooth) really helped me during the first few months since I was looking for that "marb light" flavor. Eventually I found I grew apart from tobacco flavored juices and that I like a 80PG/20VG blend juice. I would suggest buying a few small bottles and trying some that sound good to you. When you get one you like immediately order a larger bottle. A year from now you will will probably have a nice collection of Mods and be kickin it with your own DIY juices. Best of luck and happy vapes!!!!

Also as a rule of thumb:
PG = better throat hit and better flavor transmission (thinner than VG and wicks better)
VG = More billowing clouds of vapor and less flavor

as stated your personal preference will dictate which ratio suits your needs. Some people have reactions to PG and go the all VG route. Others go VG cause they like the fog machine effect. For me TH and flavor seemed to be more important hence the 80/20.

The conservative thing to do is 70/30 pg /VG. This blend offers the least problems with tanks, replacement cartos and fillings and even dripping Atties as well but they are the most forgiving. But this has been my own personal experience and i have tried everything except 100 vg. I kinda dont like vg. Personal preferance. It makes me feel clammy and if i get it on my fingers i need to wash it off. Im not usually weird either. I have made 60/40 at home because my mix needed diluting and Ichosen 0 nic VG to do that. It works kinda the same except for in my particular replacement carto system ( 1 hole pre drilled) and throat hit requires longer pull more vapor. Anyway. Try to stay away from extremes and VG is pretty much more difficult to work with, flavor wise, throat hit wise and wicking wise. So I suggest 70/30 pg VG and play from there. You'll get easier flavor taste, enough vapor and not have have wicking problems as much. Yes I know they ad water distilled to pg but I'm just saying for starting out play it conservative until you get into the swing of things. Oh, and don't buy 30 ml bottles until you know and also tobacco flavors are the more problematic....glad I don't like them!
