And are these ingredients more expensive?
High quality nicotine base I would imagine is more expensive than a lower quality discount nicotine base.

I also tend to believe that natural, organic flavoring agents are more "flavorful" than artificial flavoring agents, and more expensive to procure. Some of the higher end juice manufacturers pride themselves with using all natural, all organic flavoring agents and using a higher quality nicotine base. To my tastes, some of the inferior artificial flavoring agents "taste perfumey" for lack of a better word.

Over four years of vaping and tasting dozens upon dozens of various e-liquids in vape shops, I can identify which ones are high quality e-liquids. I may not care for the specific flavors, but I can tell if it is a high end juice.

I believe there are variations in the quality of the nicotine base used as well as the quality of the flavoring agents used. My :2c:
Ditto...plus the time and effort to make premium tasting juice, with just the right amount of each ingredient.

IE: Some chefs are good, others are incredible.

Hi everyone . I'm new on here. Can anyone explain if it's a fad when I'm told that a certain juice is a 'high quality' juice and therefore more expensive. Surely all juices are made using the same ingredients and therefore the only difference would be the flavour concentration and mix??
I can't speak for the US, but in the UK far too many vaping companies sell standard quality e-liquid for a premium price.
Ingredient price can vary and so can the expertise, but buying on price alone often leads to disappointment. Flavour is subjective but cheap juice is a total give-away.
Anybody thinking about 'organic' flavor needs to do some serious homework.

A lot depends on how you perceive the flavors of your eliquids, with the equipment that you are using. My daughter, her boyfriend, and I are all quite happy with eliquids that we get from several "lower end of the price range" vendors that fit our budget. We have one "premium" eliquid vendor that we purchase from when we are feeling particularly flush, but for the most part we have had no problems using budget priced vendors. We may not like all of the flavors, but we are happy with the quality and price.

For me the process is long. I lean towards reputation that I get here and elsewhere, and price. I started with looking for just a plain strawberry and found 47 (high number) different "plain" strawberries. I just mentioned in another thread about samplers. Not everyone does them, but I look for them.

When going to a vape shop lounge to try flavors, I look at cleanliness and where/how they mix. I have seen some really bad places and places where cleanliness/sanitary are the standard.

It is a process that takes...forever. Kinda fun though.

IMO there's no justification for the price of some (most) juices. I'm sure it costs a bit more to use higher quality nic, etc., but not enough to justify the cost. My favorite vendor sells 102 ml for less than $20. I have found several of their flavors that I really like and I actually prefer them over some of the more "high end" juices I've tried. But even that's too much for me, I'm about to start trying my hand at DIY!

I DIY and even using the most expensive high end ingredients on the market I can make about 250ml of juice for less than $8.

That said, there's a whole lot more to a high end juice than the ingredients alone. Working on and finally achieving the perfect recipe is what really sets a high end juice apart from the rest. Think of it like cooking.

Would you pay the same price for this steak:

    As this one:

They're both steak. But I can assure you that there is a big difference in price, and a good reason for that difference.

But as I said before, I DIY. I can make that premium, high dollar juice at home. It's not the ingredients that cost so much, it's the effort that goes into finding the perfect mix of them.

Based solely upon my own experience...it seems quite a few "premium" juice vendors charge more because: (1) they sell theirs in glass bottles with dropper caps, (2) they have fancy graphics-intensive labels, (3) they call them "premium" eliquids & usually have eye-catching names, and (4) people evidently believe 1-3 justify the greatly increased price, because they buy it!

I've bought "premium", mid-priced, and low-priced eliquids since I started vaping 2+ years ago. I've found wonderful examples in each price range, that I'd gladly use as ADV. To me...the price of the so-called "premium" ones isn't justified (taste nor quality wise) when compared to many in the other 2 price ranges that I've tried.

Now I DIY though, so I don't even have to think about price ranges nor unknown quality any more. I always have eliquids that are made to perfectly match my own tastes and quality desires. :)

I've only been vaping a few months but it didn't take me long to notice some shops just eyeing the level of ingredients. I told one them that there was no way you can duplicate the flavor that way. He said "sir I've been doing this for 2 years". My reply was "well I've been batching flavors for 27 years at a confectionery company and I know you can't!". Therefore I have stopped using them and use only those who use precise measurements. I'm currently vaping a "Premium Juice" for $20 per 30ml. I liked it so well that I was able to order 120 for $62 including shipping (on sale).
