Correct me if i'm wrong, after reading other posts i can use the following part instead of using a battery connector from oneof my batteries?

RF N-type connector (Radio Shack 274-1583)

if so, can someone please tell me how to wire this part correctly?

Dopple, you have the part number correct, but the description on their site says it is a DC power connector. I have done a few mods with this part. Wiring:

The threaded portion is your negative (-) connection.

The positive (+) connection is the outermost soldering contact. There are three soldering contacts. If you look closely, you can see that they are "stacked" on the center post. The one furthest from the threaded portion is the correct one for your positive (+) connection.

I am happy to answer further questions by PM if my description is confusing.

EDIT: This part works for a 901/RN4075. It will not work for other models.

Great Mod... I used a reset button from an old computer I had. I have a RN4081 Smokestik so my battery conector is a female. I don't have a bad battery so I used maddog's idea and got a truck tire valve for $1.50 from an auto parts store and used the metal cap and valve from it as an adapter. Check out the magnum thread for the details.
