I finally made the jump and got a K100. Tried to stay inexpensive to start and I have to say it's pretty nice. It hits well, looks good and other than loose machining I'm happy. Now I have to do my first low ohm coil on my RSST to see what that's all about. I can't wait to get or see a top quality mechanical. Any recommendations on one that don't cost an arm and my first born?

The two that come to mind that you can A) Readily find and B) Aren't above $150 would be a Gus and a Legacy. The Paps is another option but they only come into stock once a few times a month, often in the VERY early mornings (like 3am), and sell out quickly. The Gus mods tend to stay in stock for a good 24 hours or so when they hit the stores.

The K100 is an incredible mod for the price. The voltage drop is pretty impressive for such a cheap mod out of the box. You can get it to perform a bit better by sanding down the chrome plating from the negative and positive pins if you wish to do so. I really enjoy the K100 in 18350 mode with an AGA-T2.

If you do get a Gus, the stock hot spring is pretty bad and will cause massive voltage drop. If you get the Gus telescope ... many people just remove the hotspring all together.

Roller and Dingo are fairly priced as well. Kato Popular 2 can be had now online (domestic retailer) if you look for about $150. Never read a ton about the Popular 2, but it LOOKS interesting. Seen a couple reviews. I've got a beautiful drawtube which is a great little cheap-o. Got an Electric Angel on the way I traded for. But I'm really wanting a GG or a Nemesis I think.

The thing with all of these is finding them in stock. If you don't like you can always sell or trade and get back most of what you put in.

I am finding that I do prefer mechs when it comes to the tube form. For relaxing, I like my FTM e-pipe as it's VW and fiddle free. I do have a Sig Zmax, which serves it purpose, and it works fine, but I just prefer a mech for some reason. Maybe because they are not as vibrator looking? :) I like to tinker too.

Very good recommendations so far. Along with these I would without hesitation look at a GP PAPS and the VapourArt Line. The PAPS is a greek solid well made piece of art. 3 tubes are available with many finishes, teleccoping atty to battery pin and a Lux line coming in this month.
The VapourArt thread is full of service and questions answered by Perseas, whom is on daily to help and BS.
Good luck in your quest and like many of us, one of each is still not enough. Be Well.

Yeah I think the other thing that isn't mentioned much is that you want to be able to get parts when you "need" them. Now granted, some of the parts sell out, but at least you can get them in time. For instance, the Popular 2 is a great looking mech in the 18350 configuration. But what do you do if you want to get an 18650 tube? The only option I have found is to buy a popular 2 in 18650 mode. With the GG's, and the GP's and The Poldiacs and Nemesis' and such, there is at least the option to reach out to the makers. Also you can sort of "transform" your GG Stealth into a telescopic later, for lack of a better example. A poldiac also you can get extra tubes and pants and such. With some of the newer mechs I'm seeing from the Philiipines and such, I kind of worry that if I want something now, I may be screwed later. YMMV.

The EA Mod (Electric Angel) is fantastic and readily available through a few retailers in the States.

I bought my EA at vapedudes but could have saved quite a bit if I had bought it directly from electricangel.fi they take the vat off of american orders. The EA with shipping to US is $170

there are a few things to consider when u say good mechanical mod.

First on my list is voltage drop, some mechanical mods have a large voltage drop, which results in bad vaping experience, the k100 interesting enough only has about a .2-.4 volt drop which is very good for a $30 mod.

Build quality is why most mods are so expensive, unless u really want to have a really cool mod, the k100 you have will do the job of any $200 mech mod out there.

Either way most people will end up buying multiple mods anyways.. :)

So does finnvape, which oddly I think is in Spain? The sent me an email confirming they subtract VAT. Mods | FinnVape - Sähkösavukkeet ja nikotiininesteet

Does anyone know if the other sites subtract the VAT as well? Like say Poldiac, etc. etc. for instance? Because it makes sense that you wouldn't be getting hit with the VAT if you are not in Europe. Then again, I don't know much about it.
