Saw a great Deal on a Mech at Beyond vape when ordering a couple Tube mod Stands.
A full-Copper "Beacon" telescoping Mech for only $30 plus $6.10 Priority Shipping.
Don't need another but that (well made & designed) and the Deal almost made me click one into the Cart.
Part of my reasoning behind the transition to mech is cost of the mechs themselves. Sure some of the clones need a little tlc to get them right but that's half the fun :)

Oh you should have been after this back when MMV put all their Poldiacs on clearance sale. $260 mechs going for $80! I got 4 of them and a raft of spare parts pronto!

I've had a lot of mechs, but never any that could hold a candle to a Poldiac.

When it comes to Mechs; I'm partial to "Chunks"...
Big Ol' heavy honkin' SS (w/Copper or Silver-plated Contacts/Pins) and/or full-Copper Fire-Breathin' Voltage/Wattage spewin' Beasts in an aesthetically pleasing Form.
As such, IMO just can't beat an Authentic Philippine-made Mechanical vape Monster.

for Example;
a full-Copper Raptor for a Box-type
& a Red Phoenix Panzer for Tube-type.

I browse and drool over these Beasts looking at the "Dragons Den" website about once a week. Some amazing and awesome looking Chunks.

PUC (Pinoy Underground Customs)
SWC (Silver Wolf Customs)
MCV (Masterpiece Custom Vapes)

Masters All of the Chunk ;)

I like my mechs as compact and efficient as possible like the SMPL and the Stingray X. I have a couple of big chunky ones, and the weight and heft of them puts me off using them.

I tried to heat patina my copper SMPL and had disappointing results. I've seen some fairly pleasing results using ammonia and salt, but I've also seen some bloody awful ones too. Also, I'm pretty sure you need to clear-coat the end result which I've never had much luck with either.

As a side line project I'd like to have a go, the amonia and salt method is the one that looks the easiest to achieve I think.

I have a few but they seem to sit on the shelf due to the evolution of regulated mods and tanks

I can't see any possible evolution of regulated mods that would dissuade me from the dedicated use of mechs, nor of tanks and would lure me away from gennies. Not going to happen.

Up until a couple years ago, all my vaping was done on Authentic mech tubes; Poldiacs, Rollers, Nemesis, etc. since getting my first Reo, they all sit on the shelf. The box shape only took a couple days to get used to. Every part on a Reo is either user serviceable, replaceable, or can be sent back to Reosmods for refurbishing. With a little care, a Reo should last a lifetime.

Good call, any UK links to hand by any chance?

You do know that the mechanical was pretty much invented in the UK. Both the Mako & The Don are great PVs. I've had a Mako for five years, and if there is a way to brake it ... I haven't found it yet.

MacTech: I stopped by electronicstix last week to find out what the skinny was there. The new owners are getting rid of a lot of 'old stock'. I picked up a N Zonic (about a $250 mechanical, from the Phills.) for $15. (still haven't even taken it out of the box)

Thx tj, Dunno what got into 'em but they got a lot of bites on that lure. And Zen it seems closed up shop donnin' a new LLC...Gumption Depot Inc - Spencerport, NY. Z never did internet retail before. Don't know wasup just hope he don't stop cold producing. I've had one of the 50 granite Chinese script "Made in America" z2's, gunmetal cap'n switch, topped off with an orig 454 black cerakote and a slick black resin friction wide bore (not the chuffs, nice too). That is one sweet combo z2+454 vert's @ .27-.3Ω. One of my fav's along with Lance Wallen's fabulous monkeys. Really wasn't playin's much atten this year and was almost too late to the party. But gotta add a few of the best I picked up right here in Member Classifieds and Swaps for those who aren't savvy lurkin' this thread.

You take care and good luck. :)

And I believe both Trog (Screwdriver) and Mojureplublic (Mako & the Megladon) are still in buisness.

And if you liked doing business with Jason (former owner of electronicstix) his new company is in Billings Montana (Old Skool Vape Society)
