wow this is an active forum, thanks alot guys. So about the top coil bottom coil thing? what do you guys prefer?

It is a personal preference thing and the both have + and -. More people are using bottom coils these days but only you will know which one works for you. That is why I suggest both. They are not very expensive and the one you don't like will be your back up.

Best of luck on your journey.

Edit:
ok so the atomizer coil is the "heads" that came with my ego unit?

The terms get used synonymously but technically the coil is the actual piece of wire wrapped around the piece of wick. The wick and wire with the holding shaft together are the "head".

The biggest thing to remember dont get over whelmed with all the stuff out there and dont get discouraged some stuff you wont like and some one elses set up just wont work for you research and learning as much as you can is key, there are a lot of very knowledgeable folks on here who will take time out of their day to help out. I have several apvs i love but I still use a ego twist with a T2 or an evod everyday. Trust me before you know it you'll be building coils and have a ton of stuff sitting next to you it is quite addicting as far as the nice new shinny stuff.

The atomizer is in those 5 replaceable tanks you got with your kit...they are called clearomizers because they have the atomizer and and the clear tank for holding the liquid

actually the ego c might come with cartridges, but still you like the t-dux, i heard it is basically identical to the kanger evod.

Your initial costs will feel much higher because of trying new things to find what you like best but the long run costs will be severely lower...

Replacing heads...buying more e-liquid...or even if you decide to build your own coils eventually...these will all be much cheaper than smoking

Also if the "premium" juices you buy feel expensive you can always consider buying bulk unflavored juice from wizardlabs

Then you can experiment with making your own flavors if you like or adding menthol or whatever and really cut costs

no, not all ego-C are twist
ego-C is a system, in regulated and twist choice...

he didn't say his was a twist (could be), but referenced 'plastic' tanks

:)

I thought he said Ego C Upgrade but maybe it was upgrade his Ego C

Jeff, if what Puff posted is your kit then don't throw that stuff away, it can come in handy later for tasting juices. If you ego is not Variable Voltage then you are going to want to start think about upgrading your battery as well :)

I was already using the Ego C upgrade battery, just got the Ego Changeable Clearomizer (Ego CC). I love this thing. So, now I need to buy more type A atties. Who has the best price? Does anyone want to get rid of some?
What I like about it; no crackling on draw, nice draw, quite similar to an actual cigarette. Very easy to fill and no leaking. YAY!

Yes, the Ego C means that the atomizers are replaceable. Yes you can change voltage to 3.3 and 4.0 that's all. Holding the button for 10 sec??? Should be in the instructions. That was our first kit and now it sits on our Vape Altar. Kick back in your favorite chair, drink lots of water, and read and read and read......it will all seem like Chinese...unless you're fluent in Chinese, then it will all sound like Swahilli, unless your fluent.....Just how many languages do you understand???? It's one of the ones you don't know. :D The Ego C was our lifesaver and it was just fine for quite a while.....then we started to learn what we didn't know...that will come. Relax, water, vape, read, enjoy, ask questions, vape , read, vape, vape, read ...no no don't read....take another vape..now read. Not just about devices and clearos.....read the success stories. Great people here and very helpful. Congrats on the couple days. :toast:

Yes mine is the upgrade same kit as pictured.
When i hold the power it changes to unregulated voltage i believe. Seems to make enough vapor for me to get a decent throat hit in normal mode so Im happy with the battery for now

very cool
yes the "Upgrades" that I've used

switches from regulated (3.4v till discharged)
to unregulated (full battery output, but diminishes as battery discharges)

also unscrew bottom cap and can charge with USB port
and also allowing 'passthrough' function...

and like said, will fit most (or all) clearos & cartos (510/ego)

thanks guys, really this has been very informative i\ll have to spend some time and watch some videos. I can see this becoming another habit for myself but at least its not a $10 a day habit like butts

Well, that's kinda up to you! It can easily be a $10 a day habit [if you let it].

You've come to the right place. Great people who have years of experience and willing to help. Also, as has been pointed out in this thread previously, Youtube can be an amazing resource for help in all aspects of vaping and related hardware.

Good luck!

I would go with the pro tanks they are easy to use and clean and changing out coils are easy , and now with the dual coils you can't go wrong

I wish that were completely true, and I hope for him it is, but the ProTank2 was a complete failure for me -- at least until I learned that I needed another component, the Aerotank Base (another $5) to make it work the way it was intended. I know a lot of people love their ProTanks, but Kanger never gets another dime of my money.

That's what I find so interesting about ECF -- seems everyone has different experiences and resulting preferences. Cool!

jeff, any of the kanger products are well suited to fit ego and whatever power source you will try in the future. i recommend the Kanger t3s clearomizer for $6 is best suited to an ego batt. i holds as much as the protanks $13-$28 and uses the same coil replacements. the protanks are glass tanked. the protankIII and aerotank are dual coil models and i would suggest the aerotank over the other as you would end up getting the aerotank base to make a III happy. no leaking into the battery connection with the aerotank base. whatever you decide get some replacement coils with your order. aeros come with two extra. the tanks are bulkier and hefty on an ego but will work great now and later. a c-clip lanyard will let you hang an ego around your neck on the go. for that the t3s clearomizer is best suited. save any used coils as they can be rebuilt and reused later on. welcome to ecf and happy vaping pal
