Vaping can take some time to get used to and some people might get a sore throat for a couple of days. The other problem could be that the juice is 100% PG and PG can be harsh. Using juice with a PG/VG mix will help. Making sure that you're drinking plenty of water will also help because vaping is dehydrating, which can cause a sore throat.

Hello I just bought my puresmoke yesterday and It is my first ecig. I After I let it charge, I put on the cart and let it soak up the juice. I went to inhale my first hit and it burnt the back up my throat bad. Now when I hit sometimes it burns and sometimes not, Is it something I just need to get used to? or am I doing something wrong?

Did you blow out the atty?
They usually have primer in them.

Is this a 3-piece? The stuffing needs to be wet until moist on top but not a puddle. The stuffing need to be positioned near the top of its juice cup and fluffy enough to stay in place ok. I've used a 3-piece a lot - they require more fiddling with than a 2-piece.

I don't know what model Puresmoke is. Looks similar to RN4081 atty but with female threads on atty instead of male. No idea. Their prices are a bit high. Prefilled carts (the kind used with atty) should cost more like $10-16 for 10, batteries should cost $12-15, maybe $19 for a fancy color, attys should cost about $8.

Re burning throat
1. do not inhale directly as you drag. drag then inhale
2. drag slowly
3. If a manual, press a bit before you start dragging and let up a bit before you stop dragging, then inhale
If auto (which I do not use) you may need a warm-up short drag if the atty is cool, then your real drag.
Also, if the battery has a short safety cutoff, long drags may trigger a cutoff which will keep the atty from turning on for some period of time (10-90 seconds)
4. if it was super-harsh when you first started using the atty, that can be primer on the atty
5. if it's ok some times and harsh other times then it could be singeing the stuffinf. check is it needs to be topped off with juice

What juice are you using? If it's 100% PG or especially high nicotine and 100% PG then yes, it is harsh. I usually prefer 70pg/30vg juices.

And as mentioned, vaping can be drying (especially 100% PG which makes my tongue sore and some peoples throats sore). Sip at fluids.

BTW - if you have 100% PG base juice, you can tone it down with VG though it will cut the nicotine level and flavor too. But even 10% VG may help. You can get USP Glycerin on the shelf in Walmart near the rubbing alcohol. You may also be able to get the pharmacy to sell you an empty eye-drops type bottle and they should sell separate droppers too. Shake your juice (always shake before using too), take 9 parts of your juice and mix with 1 part Glycerin in the new bottle. if that is still harsh, try adding more glycerin and shake.

I am brand new to vaping, wanted to stop smoking so went down to my local smoke shop and picked up the puresmoke.

Yea the very first drag was really harsh. I am using the carts that came with it. I was told after charging put the cart on the atty and let sit for a few minutes for the atty to soak up the juice from the cart. I can post some up close pics Of all the pieces if that will help.

I am a bit doubtful about these prefilled carts. They do not sell empty carts for puresmoke. Would I just be a able to buy some juice and refill a cart or Just drip?

Hi jpeg and welcome to the forums! You may find that the first pv you spend money on is disappointing, this is not unusual! Whatever you do PLEASE do not give up on vaping. If you find that this model is not to your liking please come back to the forums for some great recommendations for new vapors. There are so many wonderful people here who will help you make that choice (and tell you where the best sites to buy from are).

Definitely not unusual at all.

And sorry - I misunderstood - thought you had juice.

But yes - if you can see the stuffing you can add your own juice. If your atty inserts into the cart, the juice cup of the cart may be recessed. If so, with the cart off the atty try pushing a slim smooth unbent paper clip in the mouth hole and see if you can raise the juice cup to where it can be filled. Then you need to press it back in without pressing on the stuffing. (if your carts came with soft plugs, the plug make be good for doing that)

Juice - try some 70pg/30vg and maybe some 50/50?

FreedomSmokeUSA has lots of juices and many have selectable PG/VG in their normal sizes (samplers are fixed PG/VG and fixed 24mg nic, and not all flavors available as samplers)

I am trying a 50/50 called Voodoo - not a tobacco - mild, tastes a bit of fruit and smells a bit of spices. Raspberry tea (a 50/50 I thin) is a nice juice - the tea is a bit like a tobacco and has a light raspberry flavor in it. I adore their oRYental - a sweet caramelly tobacco with some TH.

Backwoods Brew also has nice juices. My first all-day vape was their Casablanca. Their Virginia is supposed to be a fairly normal tobacco as is Smoke.

BTW - do you think you have an appropriate amount of nicotine? Probably hard to tell so far. Full strength smokers usually use get around 24mg, lights smokers around 16-18mg, ultralights smokers around 10-12mg. But some smokers need more, especially to get started, and ones who vape a lot more than they smoked may need less.

I don't think it should have actually singed this quick unless it got real hot. Maybe the juice in your carts is dark? There is a piece of wick (usually white) in or near the atty mesh bridge /\ and that is supposed to be there to wick the juice. It can get dirty or stained, but singed wouldn't be good.

You can clean metal attys like that - put some near-boiling water in a bowl and swish the atty around (make sure all air bubbles are out (use a tongs to tilt it or something to get the air out). Let it sit for 15 min, scoop some water through it, shake out and blow through it. Sometimes I also soak in alcohol overnight for a double clean. Then dry with blow dryer if you need it right away - then prime with 3 drops of juice on the mesh bridge, wait a minute and then try it.

You need to know, there are better ecigs. But this one got you here so that's great! Lets try to get it working for you.

BTW - if this /\ part of your atty (the mesh bridge) is external, you can dip carefully. But never drip with auto batteries or any battery with an open hole if the middle of the threaded ended - if juice gets in there it can kill an auto or ruin the drag sensor pretty quick.

You would need juice to dip. You use a cart with no stuffing usually. You put a bit of juice in a small puddle (like in a contact lens cleaning case) and dip the bridge in it, then put the empty cart on and vape. You still have to be careful of the auto battery but even a cart can dump juice (though usually not prefills since they aren't very full and the stuffing is new)

I LOVE the prefilled cartridges. Maybe it's my eyesight, but I can't even see the cartridge that's inside the puresmoke tip. Can't imagine how people fill them with liquid, with the liquid not just pouring out. Puresmoke is my first experience and I love it. Okay, a couple of sweet flavors wouldn't hurt.
