I am a newbie to vaping, and ordered an eGo kit with 2 complete units. They were starting to gurgle and the vapor was way down. I read that these things need to be cleaned out, and read up on methods. I don't have a jewelry cleaner or ultrasonic cleaner, and I really don't want to put any chemicals in there.

I was mulling over the information I had read while making a pot of cappuccino. I have a cheap machine with an external nozzle. When I got to the part where I put the mug of milk under the steam nozzle for frothing, a light bulb went off. I got the needle nosed pliers and an atty, and subjected it to the high pressure steam from the frothing nozzle, on both ends.

Then I put it on the manual battery and dried it out by jigging the button until no more steam came out.

It vapes like brand new! Goes great with the coffee, too.

AWESOME IDEA!!! I will keep this in mind :)

Also, regularly (2x/day) blowing the excess juice out of your atty might save you from having to take on a full cleaning. I recently adopted this method myself after an EXTREMELY clogged atty (it's still soaking in vodka :p).

But I have to try this now! Thanks!

Yep thats what I do too. I blow mine out in the afternoon and before I go to bed

Its not really a good idea to "burn" the atty untill dry...your cleaning method is ok...running under a hot water tap will do almost as well, but after blowing the excess water out, just set the atty on a pen or pencil at an angle and let it sit overnight and dry out...burning off the water will extremely shorten your attys life, and its not necessary.

Interesting I have yet to clean my atty had it for about a week. It's a little nerve racking as I am new so I have been reading like crazy to find the best methods. Not to mention I would like to have a backup atty did not realize I would need one when I ordered my kit.

Don't forget the backups for your backups. I checked some of your posts and you have an eGo-T. Grab a couple of 510 attys and cartridges as well as a couple of cartomizers. As far as I know, tank attys require some fine tuning. Make a new thread asking about adjusting tank attys and you'll get some good info.

I don't clean my atomizers nearly often enough. Mainly due to all the poor so-called advice on youtube etc regarding "burning off deposits". This definitely causes premature coil death. I've had equally good results, as far as I can tell, from just blowing through, running warm tap water through it, and blowing through again before finally air drying at room temperature.

I think your idea of steam cleaning the inside is genius. I presume you are using a water softener. I've tried soaking particularly clogged atomizers in freshly boiled water and in mixtures of hot water and propyl alcohol - these do a great job of cleaning but limescale deposits will shorten the life of the coil (and if you are not using stainless steel finish atomizers, expect the paint to blister and crack).

Well the eGo-T is working great ordered a 510 kit with carts, extra atty for the eGo, and looking at cartos next. Never imagined I would be so interested in something that has gotten me off of analogs but it has happened I have become addicted to vaping lol.
