I just took a nice, long, morning pull off my ecig only to start choking and coughing and exhaling black smoke. It was a very weird experience and now I am coughing. Should I be worried about this? It was seriously unpleasant, like taking a hit off an exhaust pipe. I assume the thing had something in it that it needed to burn off or got dry. Regardless, am I gonna die?!

It probably wasn't a dry atty where caked on juice was burned off. That's always been white/grey smoke during a dry burn. Even charcoal produces grey smoke. I'd get a new atty or carto and toss that one.

What battery and atomizer were you using? What juice? Did you lose vapor production right before that happened?

Ooooh,
LR and eGo.

Brand new attys sometimes have a preservative on the heater.
Bad taste, but not smoke.
Drip into the atty no cart. Dry spot in filler (plastic) could do it.
Plastic insulator in bottom of atty (some are plastic, some are ceramic) could do it.
Overheated Mosfet switch on eGo circuit board (little plastic component inside battery).

Atty or Cartomizer?

Man vs Wild will come in handy someday. I hope, or else I've wasted a lot of hours. Anyway, the atty works fine now. My guess is that it got dry, although even when I've accidentally let it get dry, it's never done that before. My lungs feel slightly irritated, so hopefully I will live!

Thanks for all the advice :)
