part 1 the gg ark.
img3003.jpg
ok will put this up for all gg, can only post 4 pics per post this is part 1.
parts needed.
1-flatware box used or new.
1 t-shirt from cov with gg logo in your favorite color.
3 types of trim moulding. 1/4in x 1-3/8in lattice, 5/8in x 3/4in cove moulding, 3/4 square dowel,
illustration art board.
spray adhesive.
img3002.jpg

first remove silverware divider, see above pic it's on the left hand side removed.
cut 2-pieces of illustration board 1 for the upper lid where the gg logo will go and 1 for the box floor.
place your cut illustration board over t-shirt centered on gg logo, fold shirt over board and cut leaving a 2in over-lap.
then secure shirt to board with gorilla heavy duty duct tape and install in upper lid. note I opted not to use spray adhesive
in this step, if spray adhesive it not set up properly it may bleed through the material, also gorilla duct tape sticks to anything.

mouldings you have 3 types lattice, cove, and square dowel. the lattice and square dowel are header boards they sit
front and rear in the box, the cove moulding sits in center from left to right.
cut moulding to fit box, I used a chop saw for this, if you don't have maybe ask a friend to cut for you.
tip place a blocker on one end of the saws table and clamp in place at the measurement needed, slide molding on
table up against blocker and make your cut. this way all mouldings are cut the same.
install moulding in box to test fit. then remove all moulding and illustration board
img3000.jpg

lay 2 pieces of string across box from left to right hanging-out 1 foot on both sides of box, this is
so you can remove illustration board and glued mouldings later.

lay illustration board in box over strings, make sure strings are hanging out on both sides.
install header mouldings lattice at the top of box and square dowel at bottom of box. do not glue them in they must be
removed later.

use elmers or wood glue.
glue cove mouldings in center of box left to right to the illustration board. note, keep glue away from each end of cove moulding, the header boards have to be removed later.

let glue set up for 20 to 30-min, carefully remove header boards-lattice and square dowel from top and bottom of box.
note, do not let dry over night in box, you may not be able to get them out.

lift the glued cove mouldings and illustration board out of box using the strings, place outside of box and let dry over night.

trim cut with box cutter knife illustration board flush to cove mouldings all the way around.

test fit - reinstall center cove moulding assy in box, install header boards top and bottom.

decision time to leave natural or cover with material, this is preference I actually liked the natural look better maybe
even putting a light coat stain on it.

the difficulty involved in applying the material to cove moulding is maddening, leave it natural wood.
I used at least 10 sets of latex gloves, carefully working the material over the wood not to get any spray adhesive on the
fabric, I locked out.

good luck all gg friends go and build.

part 2 will show where to buy mouldings and finished box.

emmmmmmmm, I agree River lol
going on about 10 years now Imeo. I don't think I could ever go back... life is just sooo much more simple not having to try and decipher the women's code! No offence to women. Our thought processes are just polar opposites.

Well it has been just a little over a month now with my Just GG so I though I would give a little update....

Ok, I bought the Just GG for its robustness and it has not let me down. I've dropped it (and put a nice ding in my maple floor and Ithaka window #1 broke), Its rolled off the table (and window #2 broke), it fell out of my pocket onto the driveway (Ithaka window #3 broke) and it rolled off my music stand at band practice (New strengthened window did NOT break :) )... Well after all that it is still going strong! :)
