I have been using electric tape for getting all stubborn parts out.
Usually parts getting stuck are smaller ones without much of grip. Wrap one layer of electric tape over it (be sure not to cover the join) for a good strong grip. Never fails. Also, electrical tape wouldn't leave any residue when you take it off.
I usually can't get the bottom tube (engraved) of Ithaka off from the base without using this method. same goes for the smaller nut on the button shaft.

Also, a soak in hot water usually loosens up the gunk that is clogging up your threads.
