I've been lurking around here for just a few days and have decided to just dive right in, head first...no sense in just getting my toes wet here, if the water's cold, it's cold so I might as well just go for it.
I'm turning 38 in a couple of weeks, and have decided to do myself a favor and get off the old analogs after 20 years. What started out as a couple of cigs at a party quickly turned into my current 1.5 - 2 PAD smoking habit. I've tried numerous smoking remedies in the past to no avail...though I did quit once for about a month. My problem has always been that I thoroughly enjoy the act of smoking itself...I just don't like the 20 minute long coughing fits first thing in the AM, or the wheezing when I'm out hiking in the mountains, or the smelly clothes, or the dirty ash tray and wind blown ashes all over my back patio, or being ostracized by friends and family. Then of course, there are the 10,000 + chemicals and carcinogens that, once upon a time when I was a bullett proof 20 year old, didn't bother me...I see things a little differently now in my "old age." I also have a beautiful wife and two beautiful baby boys to consider these days.
My wife would just like me to not be "smoking" anything...but that's simply not going to happen, at least not right now. Like I said before, I simply enjoy it too much. I am convinced and I believe I've convinced her that this is the next best thing. It's something I've been thinking about for a couple of years now, but was hesitant to pull the trigger. Namely, I didn't know anybody who actually used an e-cig...now I do and I've had the opportunity to talk to him about it and it's working great for him.
I have to say that I'm a bit nervous and very excited all at the same time. I really don't know what I'm doing...don't undertand all of the lingo...the carts, the atomizers, the watts, etc but I assume I'll get there eventually. I just ordered my first kit; I went with the Smoktech DCT Ego starter kit and also order a 5 pack of add'l 1.5ohm cartomizers and a few flavors of juice...I believe the brand is Dekang.
At anyrate, I'll probably be around...asking a whole bunch of stupid questions. Looking forward to getting off the analogs.
