Remember, Vaping is a 'heathier' alternative to smoking not a healthy one.

So, i've been vaping a couple of years, and for the first year I fealt and looked really healthy. I've been vaping 18mg for 2 years and dont get me wrong I still feel heathier than i did when I was smoking. I've just recently cut my nicotine level down from 18mg to 8 mg and much to my suprise i'm getting all the same symptoms I got when i first came off analogs. My skin looks healtheir and my eyes have become bloodshot from the increased circulation.

This kinda of shocked me because I guess i had kind of convinced myself that vaping is really like being a non smoker with most of the benefits of smoking, but I now realise this isn't the case.

Just something to bare in mind.

Yeah I think we all have to keep that in mind. I know I've read that some have used vaping as a stepping stone towards quitting altogether. While others are satisfied with the benefits they've found from quitting cigarettes and moving to an alternative. But your point is something to keep in mind that it's a healthier alternative but not the end all be all if you're looking to completely quit.

Thanks Pieman. Glad you brought this up.

With more time, more will be known about nicotine in vaping, but for now we must err on the side of caution forever realizing that we are still putting a substance into our systems. While it is MUCH better than an analog, I still think about the long term effects for myself. I have plans for cutting down on my intake. I am actually looking forward to it! And I'm only 5 weeks since my last analog after doing it for 38 years. I guess I'm more ready than I thought I was.

Sorry, your statement/title is miss-leading.
Vaping is Vaping.
Nic intake can be inclusive or not. We actually have several Vapers here that no longer use Nicotine.
Also you must consider personal health in the equation.
What is bad, or better for one may be of no consequence to anothers health.

That's neat to hear that some have worked their way down to zero nicotine. So there is juice made out there with 0mg nicotine?

I'm not suggesting anyone quits vaping and goes back to analogs, it's worked for me for the last 2 years. But i had settled into a rhythm of ordering my 18mg juice every couple of weeks and not really thinking about the fact that I could be healthier by reducing my nic. The thread wasn't meant to knock vaping, more of a reminder to people, like me, who started vaping in the first place to be healthy.

I'm glad it's working for you, I know it has for me. You're starting at a good time too, when I started it was a major pain in the ... trying to find something that was reliable :).

After Vaping for 2 years there's absolutely no doubt in my mind the Vaping is better than analogs just don't forget why you started though, like i did.

would disagree with OP. Nicotine itself doesn't kill. Studies actually show many positive consequences from nicotine exposure such as increased cognitive performance, increased short and long term memory performance, appetite reduction, it is also showing positive effects on treating ADD/ADHD. There are more, but that's what i remember off the top of my head.

PG and VG can have allergic reactions, but not common.

The real danger is in flavorings. I stay away from dessert flavors because i am avoiding butter flavorings completely.

Here's a new study hosted on a .gov site
Long-term effects of inhaled nicotine. - PubMed Mobile

Heres some more interesting info on nicotine
