As the title implies i just received my joye 510 yesterday. Purchased through cignot.com. All i can say as far as ordering is order through them and save yourself a headache. These gals really know their stuff, are extremelly helpful and respond quick through e-mail, and are downright awesome. They even made sure to put my order on the first truck out and accomidated my speciffic needs. (wanted blank carts with my kit. 3 whistle tip and 2 round just to be able to check out what i like) I cant say enough good things about them, still e-mailing vicki with questions and getting good feedback after the sale.

I purchased the ecopure based english toffee liquid 24mg along with my kit.
Liquid Review: Tasty. Deffinetly get good toffee notes. Not too sweet and leaves a good aroma behind. Vapes well. I believe it is pure vg based so i get clouds of vapor. It does seem a little harsh on my throat sometimes but i think its mostly user error and or nicotine strength(will elaborate later). Recommend checking this out if candy flavors are your thing.

Heres where my questions begin. Ive been vaping about a day and half. My issue i have is sometimes the vapor is really smooth and delicious and sometimes is very harsh. Either way its producing large plumes of vapor but it isnt always enjoyable when it gets harsh. My routine is simple. Manual bat. Hit the button for a second or two to warm the atty, Then draw slowly for about 3-4 seconds. I try to allow it cool for about 10-15 seconds in between hits but it still always ends up getting harsh. i dont know if im drawing to hard or getting the atty too hot or what. (im 100% sure the primer is gone as i blew it out, added drops, vaped through the primer, added more drops and repeated this a few times already) I have found if i pulse the atty instead of just holding the button down when i draw i get a smoother vapor but less production and i am unsure if it is ok to press the switch repeatedly? So where am i going wrong. I will add that i am using a ptb mod cuz the original filler tastes gross soon after filling even with topping off. I have standard carts PTB modded on an original 510 atty (2 hole design) Any tips are GREATLY appreciated.

Also heres my other issue. I have not been able to put down the analogs just yet. I still crave them even though im vaping. Im doing my best not to do both too close together cuz then instead of cutting down on a nasty habbit im just adding more nicotine to it. It seems sometimes vaping doesnt really diminish craving and sometimes it does. I get the worst analog cravings after eating or drinking coffee. So i guess i am asking whats helped you? I really wanna stop the analogs and stick to vaping. Should i use the 510 when i have cravings or is it better to be used as craving prevention? (Using it before you get to the craving point) Need opinions and some general input here.

Last issue i have is leakage. No matter what ive tried so far its leaks around the edge of the cart where it connects to the atty. Its annoying cuz i have to wash my hands everytime i use it so i dont transfer the e liquid to my 7 month old. I wanted this so i could elimnate some of those rituals that came with analogs but so far its just as much trouble. I dunno if i'm over filling? 10-12 drops is usually what i put in(empty cart). Just to get the PTB matierial to that sorta "slushy" state. Again any input is welcome!

Overall i think this is something i can really get into. If i can iron out the few issues im having (expecially the harsh throat hit) i think it would ease the transfer. Unfortunately evil analogs have their hold on me but i wanna break free! Thanx for any help you can provide!

it may take a little bit to completely put down the analogs and it sounds like the cravings you are getting are more habit based than addiction based,

you also may just be overheating the atty, when i would puff on my 510 alot i found that it would go from smooth to harsh as well but if i let it sit for a little longer it would go back to being smooth, this may also be caused by the filler not wicking well into the atty, both of which can be remedied by waiting a little longer between drags, letting the atty get wet again and cool down a bit, as for the leakage i would recommend a blue foam mod, once i got that down i rarely ever had to deal with leaking

hope that helped Happy vaping

I've also noticed if I let it cool down awhile it does get smoother but then it takes forever to get enough to make the cravings go away. I wish there was a way to vape a little faster and not get the harshness. Haven't tried te blue foam yet. Might have to give it a go. Anyone else? Tips, advice? Also wanna add that I'm stuck having to go outside as if smoking regular cigs cuz I can't vape in the house where I'm at. Room mate thinks it's the same as smoking even though I've shown proff that it's not. So I can't vape as freely as I'd like. Stuck going outside and trying to get my fill instead of puffing every now and again. Lamesauce. Oh well.

I agree it's more seeping than leaking. I did my own little mod on another cart using ptb. Used 2 layers. One smaller than the other and wrapped them around a blunt tooth pick and kind of twisted the end that goes in the cart. Looks like a little bouquet of flowers before you stuff it in the cart "flower" side up. Seems to have stopped the seeping AND it is the smoothest vape I've gotten yet. Will keep testing and let you guys know how that goes.

Also I think I may have figured out my analog problem. I don't think I was vaping enough to kill the urge. So far today I've only smoked 2 analogs and have been vaping whenever I get the urge to. My wife smoked an analog in front of me and I was content with my vape and had no urge.

Definite learning curve but all in all I'm on my way to being a full time vaper!

Definitely try the blue foam. It will help with this because it wicks awesomely.

When you're cutting it, a) MAKE SURE you wash it before using it, and b) think of it more like a "cap" on the cart instead of filling the entire cart. This will make the weight of the liquid behind the foam cause it to wick even faster because it will just push through the foam. You want it to be a little thicker than the width of cart opening and about twice as long (of the opening) and push it down in the middle with a pair of tweazers with equal amounts hanging off on either side (longways) of the cart so that the two sides kind of fold in as you push it in. Fill the cart about 2/3rds with liquid then push foam in.

It's going to take some practice to figure out how much juice is "overfilling" and how much is "just right." Prepare to flood/leak off and on until you get it right. It will be worth it in the end but will probably make your leaking issue much worse at first.

Also, as far as having drips "leak" between the atty and the cart, wipe off the edges of the square part of the cart before re-inserting because the vapor condenses around the edges of the cart inside the atty and will get pushed up as you re-insert while refilling.

You might try drawing more slowly, as you inhale or draw. It seems that sometimes they have a hard time keeping up, or keeping properly wicked, and not enough e-juice actually makes it to the atomizer. A slower draw seems to remedy this for me. Another thing (I learned this here in the forum) is to draw into the mouthpiece for a second or two first, before actually doing the vaping. In other words, without pushing the button to heat the atomizer, do a two or three second draw, THEN after that, push the atomizer button and do your actual vaping draw. But remember to try and draw a bit more slowly. I think you'll find that you get a smoother, more tasty vape.

I'm thinking along the same lines as Fritos1. You didn't say what strength juice you are using, but i think 24mg should do it for most. I started with the 10 - 12mg juices for a few weeks, but the 24 mg is definetly more satisfying.

As for the leakage.....I have the same issue. It may just be condensation too. I think this is something we will have to just learn to live with. Just take a tissue or paper towel and wipe it away every once in a while.

Can't really help with the analog thing. All I can say is just keep vaping. One of these days the analogs won't taste so good anymore. You will eventually put them down for good. Don't try to do it all in one day or week or month. It will happen. This is where the stronger e-juice will help. Just my humble opinion.

Me in a nutshell too. I have never smoked in this house. The first night that my 510 was ready for use (15 days ago) my husband, the smoker hater, wanted to see how it worked. I showed him and he was pleasantly surprised. I can sit here right at my laptop with him on his laptop right behind me and vape away. You know what? Not so smart at first for those of us that fall into the above quoted category. The absence of following the routine can trigger (trick) your mind into thinking that you're missing something. I would sit here and vape but my brain was telling me that I didn't do something I meant to do, something was left out. It was saying "you gave me what I needed but you didn't follow through". The brain is quite the game player. For a few days I was a bit unsettled that maybe the ecig wasn't going to do it until I found the root of the problem and it was exactly that. I am all about the routine and removing that unbalanced the scale. So for the first week I learned that I had to follow the same routine. I would get up and go out on the porch to vape. The same at work. I can vape because I am out of plain view. However, that first week or so I felt like I was not doing something I was supposed to be doing. So I followed the same routine and got up and went out for a break. Now, after 13 days the need to do it comes and goes but the feeling of not having done something that I should have is going away. I'm sitting here vaping 0mg banana cream pie in the house and I'm perfectly satisfied happy. Sometimes I need to go outside and sometimes I need 24mg.

I would highly recommend trying to follow the same patterns at first as though you are smoking an analogue if you're a creature of habit. I can attest to the fact that the need to do that will go away.

Please, please, listen. Continue to do what you're doing and try the "routine" thing as I did and don't push it. At the end of the day revel in the analogues that you did not smoke. You know what? It may take 5 days, it may take 10, it may take 15. This I promise you. All of a sudden you will begin to notice that the analogues are becoming less important. In fact, you will begin to trade the thought of an analogue with the though of vaping. Maybe not all the time to start but it will happen. For me it began after I started to notice that the decrease in the analogues made a difference in how I feel when I get up, how my breathing is different, how my tongue and gums are pink again, and how I'm slowly beginning to get taste and smell back. It's not huge yet but it's enough that when I start thinking about the analogues I seriously consider and ponder as to why I would want to give that up. Many times in my 4 analogues that I do have per day at this point I am more holding it and not sucking it down like I used to.

The enjoyment wanes, it really does. For some it takes longer than others but it does happen. Just make sure that you are using the right amount of ejuice without going overboard. Once you find your sweet spot (what I call my ecig mojo) and you get the full hang of the ecig it will all come together. I promise.

Concerning the leakage it just takes some getting used to and you will be less messy each time. Figuring out that magic amount to add to your cart is an art..lol

As far as the cravings go, I didnt have that problem as I jumped right in to the extra high !!

I can't remember the thread but I've followed the advice and never had to deal with the leakage. When you fill the cart it should look slushy. If it's a little more than needed take a paper towel and just dab at it a bit.

I've been smoking since I was 13. 15 years and I've only had 2 analogs all day! I can't even remember the last day I made it through with only 2 cigarettes. I finally found my groove with the 510. Found out I was drawing too light and slow. Sped it up and inhaled harder and bingo. Nice smooth clean tasting vapor. I am shocked and amazed. I love this already and it's only been a little over a solid day. Now looking into a riva kit! More battery please. Heh. Thanx again everyone
