Nice looking grand Crash Moses stick the atty in a 510 to 510 adapter put it on a drill even better a drill press and sand it . You wont hurt the atty

Used a drill and it worked like a charm, Rob. :thumb: Started with some 320 grit and worked my way up to 1500.

Had a heckuva time getting the finish off the inside of the cap though...

Yup...didn't take me long to decide I wanted another. All your fault too...(my wife isn't speaking to you).

Got a brass button coming and some brass and copper drip tips. I'll post pics when she's all prettied up (although as it stands with the brass RM2 she's looking pretty awesome).

Going for a Marine Corps theme on my tumbled. Olive Drab Plastidip with maybe a mirror finish on the door (although maybe not...looks like it's not as easy as I thought). Eagle, Globe and Anchor either on the Reo itself or possibly the RM2 (or maybe both...depends on what the engraver can do). Bullet drip tip and I'm thinking one of those tiny compasses for the button.

This is my end game as it stands. Right now it's all about aesthetics.

Bud, my basements still available :). I think if my wife knew how much I've spent on my REOs and RBAs I'd be down there too :)

Like I said, she'll only be happy when there's nothing being ingested into my lungs but air.

Even then, suppose I quit vaping (think ill quit breathing first) would she be happy if I picked up some brand new dirtbikes for the kids with the saved cash? Hell no.

But she did just "let me" get a new car. I let her get one too :)

Awesome, love that skull. My order is in the Reo shopping cart (awaiting stock on some spares) for a silver vein one. Was a toss up between the copper vein and silver vein. Did not know one can get copper RM2! Where, please?

It is DIY, the people who did it tell how if you go back and re-read the posts.

Thanks, did pick it up in the mean time.

It's pretty easy, Matthee. I tried the Scotchbrite first but I didn't get the shine I wanted. Got an assortment of wet/dry sandpaper (320 grit on up to 1500) and a spare 510 adapter. I put the 510 adapter in a 1/2" drill and then screwed the atty onto that. Then I cut some small 3" lengths of sandpaper and held them in my hand while the drill spun the atty.

The sandpaper wears out pretty quick (especially with a high speed drill...and can get a tad hot) so I would swap out pieces of sandpaper as they wore out. Once the finish came off I started using the higher grit stuff. Once I got to 600 grit I started adding water (just dribbled a little on the sandpaper) and kept going until I was using the 1500 grit.

The finish ended up very smooth but still has a slightly brushed look to it which is what I wanted. I think if I'd gone up to 2000 grit or used a buffing pad with some metal polish I could have got closer to a mirror finish...it just would have taken more time.

Took me about an hour or so in all.
