Neptoon, another thing you might try is vaping your rig like you're smoking a pipe. Instead of doing a directly into the lungs inhale, puff the vapor into your mouth, giving it a few moments to let it cool before you try to inhale the vaper. vaping is a bit different than smoking...

That's great advice. I never open my mouth when vaping. Gets too harsh. And exhaling thru the nose brings out the flavor.

Im not a big fan of the dekang juices at all. To me they all have this wierd funky after taste like some sort of industrial oil and i dont know how i know what industrial oil taste like. Then again opinions are like #!@holes, everyone has one. :p

Thats exactly what I think too! I was afraid to say it because I didn't want to bash any companies here but the taste is just awful. A little harsh upfront and then an industrial oil nutty after taste. Doesn't remind me of any tobacco on earth.

I am not an expert on this since i am kinda new but, i noticed if i went too high on either the pg ratio or the nicotine amount it would bother my throat and chest. I am vaping mostly 50/50, and 60pg40vg with a nic level no higher than 12 mg. I had to experiment with a few different juices before i found out what i needed. As for the dekang juices they did not make me cough i just did not like them.
what kind of jucies does not make u cough ??

Dekang is bargain liquid, no doubt about it, but I've never come across a bad batch, nor one that caused me to react like you did. I think this is a normal reaction when you start vaping. The vapor is simply different from smoke, and the body has to get used to it. I introduced two friends to vaping over the weekend. One choked on the vapor with two different juices but did okay with a third (all from the same manufacturer), but in the end decided it's not for him, at least for now. The other coughed a couple times but then got the hang of it, and has become a fanatical vaper. Remember that you have to inhale vapor differently. Draw in gently with just your mouth for 3-5 seconds, let it cool there for a couple seconds, and then either exhale or inhale, according to your preference.

It is most likely the nic. Same thing happened to me, I got 24mg nic and couldn't even smoke it, was way to much for me, and I smoked a little over a PAD of camel menthols. Using 12-18mg nic now...depending on the vendor...some vendors I can use 18 some I can't. Also only use 100%VG since I can't vape the PG...except from Mom&Pops I use 20PG/80VG and that works fine to.

i was a 3 PAD er myself. started at 36 which was way harsh. immediately inside of 2 weeks, i reduced to 24, and down to 16 by 30 days in. 0 at 40 days, but a story for another thread. try reducing your dosage, or change the mix of pg/vg in your juice. stay with it. try not to inhale so deep. take the vapor into your mouth:facepalm: (phrasing) exhale through the nose. you don't have to inhale to get the nicotine. and remember just like the cigs you smoked in the beginning, your lungs need to adjust to vaping as well. good luck.:toast:

I don't buy into the whole not inhaling and just using mouth/nose to get the nic....i would still inhale, your lungs still do absorb nic so why not do it...i do all three, mouth->lungs->nose exhale, that way you get the most nic possible. at least that's the way I look at it. plus any smoker is not going to want to NOT inhale into their lungs, at least not me, that's part of the process of smoking, which would transfer over to vaping.

I believe Dekang is made in China no?, atleast iv'e come across a couple of suppliers selling dekang. I have smoked a pack of parlies and Marl.Lights for about 5 years now. I starting vaping a couple months ago and started of with 16, which actually was pretty harsh so I went down to 12. Honestly the change was not much, although I would think 24 would give you a pretty harsh throat hit.
My trick is to inhale slowly, not like how you used to inhale a cigarette, I inhale it very slow which gives me a nice and smooth throat hit, as well as you can feel how the flavor is building up.

I'm not sure if its cool to treat this thread as a blog but after vaping all night I can say the juice is unsatisfying and harsh no matter what voltage, wattage, slow inhale, drops of water. This juice is just bad sorry to be so up front but thats my opinion. Looks like I need to start planning on what juice to buy next and I have my eye on diamond vapor near me, So if anyone has any feedback on their juice that would be great.
I also might get a new tank because I found out how much I have to tilt and shake the vivi nova because sometimes it gives dry hits.
So I might do what one of you guys suggested and buy a bottom coil tank even know I read on a review that they give colder vapor compared to top coil.
