So, I just got my Reo yesterday. It's a Reo Grand LP. I'm running a Nuppin with a dual coil at .6 ohms. This is a HOT vape. It's actually a little TOO hot for me. I prefer a cooler vape. I went to our local vape shop and got a wide bore drip tip that also has air flow control and it's helping some, but not much. Do I need to back down the ohms? Maybe I should take one of the coils out and just run it at 1.2?

Any advice you have will be spectacular. Thanks! Reo.jpg

Hey! Do you have the coils right behind the airholes and close to them so you can see them when you look thru?

If so, then yes, dropping the resistance or in your case, a coil will help.

Welcome to REOvil :)

You can compensate a tad, by drawing faster and harder, thus pulling more air to cool the vape. Also, consider your nic strength. I was a religiously devout 24mg vaper when I ran a single 1.6-1.8 ohm coil, but .6 (net) on dual coils in an Odin forced me to drop to 12mg.

Yes, I'm usually a 12mg girl, but I'm vaping 6mg on the Reo. :)

Heat flux is worth mentioning a bit : ECF Heat Flux

Essentially, just get those coils as close as you can to the air holes. If its still too hot, add a wrap. The drip tip will help due to extra air coming in but you create a pressure vacuum in the RDA because you have 2 holes mixing air in. I would suggest just adding a wrap, seeing how that works, and if its still too hot trying a wider bore drip tip.

My first advice is: live with it a little. It feels wild and wooly right now, but you'd be surprised at how you come to appreciate a new setup quite quickly.

If you still don't like it after, say, 2 days, drop a coil or try a longer, wider drip tip.

The Nuppin' hits hard - by my estimation, it feels like about .1ohm less resistance than the same setup would feel in another atty in terms of TH and heat.

I ran into the same thing with my first Reo. The first thing I did was throw a wide bore drip trip on it, and your right, it did help.
But the biggest difference was made when I changed the coils.
Seems us new Reo owners need some kind of learners guide
Thank heavens for the "Reonaughts" on ECF
Doesn't matter how long we have been vaping, there's a "learning curve" when you add a Reo (or 2) to your collection.

...but it's a good learning curve. Unlike other devices that use variable voltage, you can't just adjust wattage on a Reo Grand. You're getting raw voltage and power from the battery (unregulated voltage). You have to adjust the Coil temperature by adding a few more wraps to your coils. That'll raise the ohms (from say, 1.2 to 1.5), and give a cooler vape. However, as the battery power decreases... it'll get cooler and cooler. :)

(Note: Well, technically you can use VV on a Reo by using a Kick II; but however, many feel it's not worth the hassle).

And welcome to the wondrous world of Reos and Nuppin's.

As others have said, you'll need to find your sweet spot with the Nuppin'. I drive 3 of them on LP Grands all day and night... so far my favorite bf atty for the Reos. A lot of tricks have been learned here that can change the dynamics of them for subtle to stark differences in all departments. You might want to read through the Nuppin' thread to learn about them... it's a long read though. It is a very versatile atty, and it will come down to the build that works best for your style to get the most out of it. IMO well worth the effort.
