I just got the two SS Vamos I ordered a little over a week ago, and boy do I like them!

I chose the Vamo for a couple reasons. Where I live it's extremely hard to get vaping equipment or supplies, and what you can get costs at least double what it does in the US -- for example, the SLB eGo-V V2 (650 mAh) runs to $70, while a clone eGo-W (650 mAh) costs around $50. And no, those aren't kits, they're just the battery.

So I decided the best way to deal with this crappy situation would be to get a couple APVs that (1) are built like a tank, (2) use replaceable batteries that I can buy locally if necessary, and (3) are relatively affordable. And the Vamo seems to fit the bill.

My first reaction when I opened the box was, "Boy that's pretty!"

My second reaction was, "Holy crap, this thing's heavy!" I had no idea it was this heavy! It is indeed a tank! It's going to be pretty darned hard to use it when I'm out and about, that's for sure. But I spend a lot of my time at a desk, so I'm not really worried. I suppose I'll use an eGo-whatever for mobile vaping.

The Vamo feels incredibly solid, and the buttons inspire confidence. Its potential uses as a deadly self-defense tool have not gone unnoticed.

I worry about the threads stripping, and about the O-ring issue, of course, but I assume that if I baby it it'll keep on performing.

I've been using VW only so far, in RMS mode. I don't really see the point of VV now -- once I find my wattage sweet spot, I imagine I'll just stick to it.

All in all, I'm a happy camper!

I just got one too. I got the stainless and was surprised that it was 3 different levels of polish. The main part with the the buttons looked a bit like stainless, the next section looks exactly like stainless, and the battery extender looked like chrome. Did yours look the same? I fixed it with a green scotchbrite pad and made all the parts look the same. I have done this with stainless steel in the past when doing pinball machine restorations. It looks much better now. It is heavy, I think I may try the 18350 batteries.

I love my VAMO, it is freaking awesome. SS V2

Mine is not polished uniformly. The extension tube, battery cap and top ring are all shiny like chrome but I don't even care. I haven't had the positive post grommet problem but I do have some #60 washers on hand just in case.

I just can't get over what an amazing vape this VAMO+AGA-T+ is over my eGo + Vivi Nova / clearomizer.

You might want to try ordering from Health Cabin. They ship darned near near anywhere and have very good customer service. If anything slips through the cracks with their ticket system you can post on their Health Cabin's ECF thread to call the issue to their attention. China airmail shipping is slow as molasses but manageable if you can plan for the wait.

Just make sure you don't screw stuff down too tightly and it'll help to avoid both these issues. That said, I have stripped one Vamo due to swapping devices a lot, so I now use ego adapters on my other two Vamos. By the way, I hope you put your Vamos in N02 mode as they sometimes come shipped in N01.

Enjoy your Vamo's!

I just got mine in a couple days ago, and yes, its built like a tank! I have not found a need for vw yet tho. I change juices and tanks often, and the vw just dont cut it. sure, 12 watts is 12 watts, but... 12 watts on my vobcc with grape bubblicious, is not the same vape as 12 watts on my vivi nova with double ry4... so I just stick to vv and adjust as needed.

Thanks for the tip. I'd considered them, but while I was considering they announced that they can't ship batteries through DHL or China Post, nor liquids through one or both of those, and so I had to look elsewhere.

Though now that I have batteries I could actually just buy more Vamos from them, if the two I have somehow die.

I actually bought a few adapters just in case. They use the thin, inner threading (which my Vivi Nova Minis also use) which my other clearos don't. When I tried this setup out, I burned out the coil in a brand new Evod within 5 minutes, though. Don't know if it's a bad adapter, a bad head or bad luck.

Thanks for the N02 tip -- fortunately, my Vamo came in optimal condition: big new spring, red cardboard washer up inside, all stainess steel, and N02 already set!

The adapter shouldn't have anything to do with burning something out. Maybe like you said, bad head or luck. Have fun with your Vamo!

Congrats to both of you, hope you enjoy as much as I enjoy mine.

Kt that sounds odd, my ss is all the same finish and I know for sure it is indeed stainless. Did the magnet test. Lol well, glad you got it looking better.

Actually, I did magnet test it and it is stainless. I guess they had a new guy on the assembly line overpolishing the battery extensions that day. If you look it up on Discount vapors website, they have a disclaimer at the bottom that explains how it looks so I guess there are alot of them that come in different degrees of polish. Oh well, looks good now.
